Many people don’t realize this, but most St. Patrick’s Day parades across our country — and here in North Carolina — are not funded by cities or municipalities.
These parades are organized by volunteers and community groups, and the costs add up quickly: permits, insurance, police details, barricades, staging, sound, sanitation, and more. Putting on a safe, family-friendly parade is no small or inexpensive task.
That’s why fundraisers are essential. Every raffle ticket sold, fundraiser attended, or sponsorship secured goes directly toward keeping these traditions alive in our communities.
If you’ve ever enjoyed a St. Patrick’s Day parade — cheering along the route, bringing your family, or marching with friends — please consider supporting a local parade fundraiser. It truly makes the parade possible year after year.
