Greetings to all our friends in Hawaii, on the mainland, in the Philippines and around the world! Chronicle is celebrating its 25th Anniversary, Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner on November 23, 2019 at Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu and we're proud to share this milestone achievement in the history of the paper!
This celebration is about YOU & ME, our Filipino heritage and culture, and recognizing Filipinos who are making a difference in our community. The event will also include the launching of our journalism scholarship awards to students of Filipino ancestry who are majoring in journalism/mass communications or the media. Filipinos and Fil-Ams represent the fastest-growing ethnic group in Hawaii and make up 23% of the state's population and yet they are under-represented in the fields of journalism. It is important that we support students who are preparing their future in the media industry. Chronicle believes we must build a pool of journalists in the future to safeguard our democracy and empower our people.
It is for this reason that we humbly ask for your help to support our future journalists who will be the "voice" of the community! Please email us at [email protected] or call us at 808-284-4185 or 808-330-8981, or 808-678-8930 for your donations to the scholarship funds. Your contribution is tax-deductible to be made payable to Filipino Media Foundation, a 501(c) (3) corporation.
You can also purchase dinner gala tickets and place your business ads in the Souvenir Book for the event which will be kept as a keepsake/memoir for this once in a lifetime event. Let us help us continue our legacy of being your voice for the next 25 years!
Aloha, Mabuhay and Thank You to all for your support through the years!
