June is Dairy Month! As always we are honored to showcase agriculture and the work that goes into getting products into your fridge and freezers! Be sure to thank a dairy farmer this month and don’t forget to come check out the dairy exhibits at the 2026 Wabasha County Fair July 15-18! 🐄🐮

Thirteen-year-old Dustin Sylvester is so passionate about farming that he has inspired his parents, Mike and Amber Sylvester, along with his sister, Addie, to start dairy farming on the side so he can experience production agriculture. Each day, the middle schooler sets his own alarm and is out in the barn milking cows and doing chores.

Building a barn may look a little different today than it did 100 years ago, but the dedication behind Minnesota’s family farms remains the same. 🌾

The Minnesota State Fair and Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation are proud to have recognized more than 11,000 family farms that have contributed to Minnesota agriculture for 100 years or more.

Applications for the 2026 Century Farm Program are due in one month. Families who have owned their farm for 100+ years are invited to apply.
