As the dust settles and the fairgrounds grow quiet, we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who made the 2026 Vernon County Fair such an incredible success!

To every fair goer who walked our grounds, cheered in the grandstands, supported our youth exhibitors, explored the exhibit buildings, enjoyed the entertainment, and created lasting memories with family and friends—thank you for being part of this year's fair.

We also want to recognize the countless individuals whose hard work and dedication make this tradition possible. A heartfelt thank you to our superintendents, volunteers, gate workers, event staff, maintenance and grounds crews, youth organizations, sponsors, vendors, exhibitors, and everyone who gives so generously of their time and talents. Your commitment, energy, and heart are what make the Vernon County Fair more than just an event—you make it a tradition.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making the 2026 Vernon County Fair an unforgettable celebration.

📣 Additional Updates for Today — Sunday

We have a few additional updates for today’s events at the Vernon County Fair!

🎡 12:00 PM — Carnival Opens

🐴 12:00 PM — Horse Department: Stick Horse

A fun organized sport where competitors ride wooden stick horses and mimic real equestrian movements such as show jumping, dressage, and racing.

🚜 1:00 PM — Youth Pedal Pull

A family-friendly event featuring competitive youth pedal tractor pulls for children ages 4 to 12.

🏇 2:00 PM — Harness Racing

Harness Racing has been moved to 2:00 PM to give the track additional time to dry out.

❤️ During the harness racing, we will also have a special tribute to Connie Lewison, a longtime Fair Board member, maintenance worker, and dedicated harness racing coordinator and enthusiast.

🎠 5:00 PM — Carnival, Midway & Fair Closes

Exciting News

Free Gate For All
On Sunday

Due to the weather over the last couple of days the Vernon County Fair Board has decided to make Sunday a free gate.

We have made arrangements for some of our events and the freestage acts to stay over for your enjoyment.

The schedule for the FREESTAGE will be:
9:00am Worship Service at the Fair
9:00am Vernon County Dairy Judging Contest
10:00am Pete Engh Music
12:00pm The “Astonishing Hypnotist”
1:00pm Nick’s Kid Show
2:00pm What’s Your Fair Story
Rubbish Revival Winners
Bingo Winners
And our Pie Auction (Fundraiser)
3:00pm The “Astonishing Hypnotist”
4:00pm Nick’s Kid Show

HARNESS RACING
We are trying our best to prepare the track for HARNESS RACING but race or no race we will be having a tribute to Connie Lewison for the years of service to the fair and harness racing industry. We will have to wait until the morning to evaluate the condition of the track.

Weather Related Changes
For Saturday and Sunday

Additional events have been rescheduled, relocated or cancelled due to the continued weather conditions.

DEMOLITION DERBY IS ON

Our FREESTAGE ACTS will be in the Heritage Building, unless the weather improves.

The YOUTH PEDAL TRACTOR PULL has been moved to Sunday @ 1:00pm.

Unfortunately, the following events have been cancelled due to track conditions and for the safety of the participants and animals involved.
Saturday: Horse Pulling
Saturday: Draft Horse Show

Please come out and enjoy the fair, exhibits, food stands and carnival when the weather allows.

Weather Related Changes

After conversations between the Vernon County Fair Board and event organizers, and after reviewing the weather forecast for Friday and Saturday along with current track conditions, the following events have unfortunately been canceled:

Friday: Badger State Truck and Tractor Pull
Saturday: Horse Pulling

We understand these events are an important part of the Vernon County Fair, and we appreciate everyone's understanding as these decisions are made based on weather and track conditions.

Other events are continuing as planned:

Friday: The grounds, exhibits, food stands, midway and carnival will be open when weather permits

Saturday: Demo Derby

Saturday: Draft Horse Show

Sunday: Harness Racing

Please come out and enjoy the fair, exhibits, food stands and carnival when the weather allows.

🌟 Unified Showmanship Showcase! 🌟

We’re excited to introduce a new showmanship event this year that gives youth with special needs, as well as children in K–2nd grade who are too young to participate in the Junior Fair, a chance to get in on the action! ❤️

📍 Livestock Arena

Come watch this special demonstration of teamwork, friendship, and collaboration! Exhibitors from our beef, swine, goat, sheep, and dairy shows will team up with one of these young participants and give them the opportunity to experience what it’s like to show one of these amazing animals. 🐄🐖🐐🐑

We invite everyone to come out and cheer them on as they take their trip around the ring! 👏
