Captain David Wright has been operating out of Rudee Inlet since 1978. Dave's third Carolina sport fisherman boat and is custom built for large groups (up to 15 people) for special events in Virginia Beach. The High Hopes offers all types of saltwater fishing, including sight-seeing, whale-watching, family fishing trips, conferences and corporate events. The High Hopes is also perfect for special

March 2026 : Y’all have seen this before ,, Andrew & I scratched her back & rubbed it’s belly again , lol . This boat is still as sound as when Gary Davis built it for me . USCG inspection coming up next month . We hope to see you guys again this year .

, 2026 . Micheal Rogerson did an awesome job hanging on to this monster Bluefin Tuna. Yes , it is the new Va state record @ 832 lbs . Fish of a lifetime . Can’t say enough about our mate , Andrew Flory , & our awesome equipment from Penn International & Berkley Fishing as well ! The year is not over ,, giant season is closed til Jan next year . We are still offering trips for the huge tunas swimming right off our coast as long as they stay . We can keep one huge fish per day still ! Call w/ any questions .

Dec 10 : Every 35 yrs , if I need to or not , I replace my aft side curtains & 3 back ones that Harold Warren made me in 1990 . Yeah , it was time . I use these for winter storage & not as much fishing as earlier years. As much as I miss George (Tops by George) & all he did for me through the years , I am grateful to Sparky , who took over after his uncle (?) passed . You guys did a factory replacement on my job ! October 24: After several re schedules, wind , wind, wind ,,,,,, finally we got Jonathan Arias & his guys out . Little rolly , but ended up w/ fish for dinner . Thank you guys for your patience w/ our weather 🤦‍♂️ , enjoy your fish ! Hoping for big Bluefin Tuna next .

Oct 4: First day out after storms passed by . Derek Moon & company did work on these pretty dolphin & later a fee tiles after trolling here & there . Beautiful fall day . Looking forward to battling swordfish if we can get out again soon !
