“Virginia On the Map”
Virginia been that quiet powerhouse — but if they ain’t know before the Grammys, they know now. I wasn’t born here, but I’m proud to be experiencing everything Virginia has to offer. This state opened me up to live bands, real culture, and a level of talent people love to sleep on.
Virginia even exposed my son to things I used to think only rich kids did — sailing club in Norfolk, horseback riding, surf camp. Opportunities that change how a child sees the world.
I’ve always been a music head, and Virginia’s talent hit me early. I used to pull up to Shaggfest before the crowds just to hear the local artists. Same thing at the 420 Festival — the raw talent here brought me to tears. Coming from New York City, where we’re biased and think music only lives in our boroughs, Virginia humbled me in the best way.
And listen… when The Clipse performed for the Pope, that stamped Virginia permanently. That’s historic.
But the person who lit a fire under me was Pharrell. Something in the Water wasn’t just a music festival — the free workshops were about entrepreneurship, ownership, and building community. That was my first 3-day festival, and it changed me. It made me go harder in my own business and inspired me to uplift others the same way.
So even if you weren’t born here, if you live here you visited, you became a cousin, this is your moment too. Virginia is officially on the map
— and the world finally sees what we’ve been seeing.
There’s talent here.
There’s culture here.
There’s greatness here.
Put some respect on Virginia.
This one's for the Cousins!!!
