Founded in 1996, Outlaw Cirkus was the premiere underground entertainment and variety show that crawled out of the depths of Weird New Jersey. Whether appearing in a basement, backyard or under the towering trees of the Pine Barrens, Outlaw Cirkus provided visual stimulation in the form of circus, sideshow, burlesque, vaudeville and other variety acts. These included trapeze [and other aerial arts
], tight rope walking, hula hooping, knife throwing, juggling, magic, fire arts [staff, poi, fire breathing], perverse clowning and crude puppetry. Rumors also spread that the Blow-Off featured the most intense and gruesome acts, which were reserved for those brave enough to witness them. Outlaw Cirkus also treated audiences to public service announcements advocating alternative living and promoting personal freedom amongst other ideals which urged individuals to be creative, out-spoken and even independent from corporate America and the government. Obviously not everyone was keen to the opinions that were blatantly expressed through the performances, and as a result, a devastating fire claimed the lives of several members in 2003, along with many props and cherished memories. The incident was ruled as arson, and the survivors spread across the country, which brought Outlaw Cirkus to an end. Jonathan Aaron Ivylee Lovelace is recognized as one of the main contributing members of Outlaw Cirkus and co-founder of Nickel Empire Variety Arts. He is perhaps the only modern man to perform the Geek act and earned a reputation of Death Defying Daredevil. Unfortunately, during one of his rides on the Wall of Death in 2004, Jon sustained permanent injury which caused him to retire from show business entirely. Lenore Angel Baby Lovelace is the only surviving member of the original Outlaw Cirkus, and continues to carry on the Family name, in order to preserve everything it once stood for. We are now rebuilding from the ashes of our loved ones, in order to continue supporting the dream Outlaw Cirkus once had, and look forward to thrilling audiences everywhere.
