very tragic news.

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of our dear friend, colleague, and Lost 80’s Live! family member, Pete Byrne lead singer of the group Naked Eyes.

Peter Byrne, singer and songwriter for the band Naked Eyes, died peacefully in Los Angeles, California, on Monday, September 14, after a brief illness. He was 74 years old.

Rest easy, my friend. You will be deeply missed.

At the heart of their thunderous, dynamic sound was English drummer Mark Brzezicki, whose explosive yet tasteful percussion—featuring trademark setups like Octobans—propelled the band into international stardom.
Brzezicki joined the fold alongside bassist Tony Butler in 1982, solidifying the classic lineup that recorded the triple Grammy-nominated, multi-million-selling debut album The Crossing (1983) and the UK Number One album Steeltown(1984). Driven by hits like "In a Big Country" and "Fields of Fire," the band became an iconic fixture of 1980s alternative rock.
Beyond Big Country, Brzezicki earned a reputation as an elite, in-demand session musician. His powerful grooves graced Pete Townshend solo records and The Cult's landmark 1985 album Love, cementing his status in rock history. Following the tragic death of Stuart Adamson in 2001, Brzezicki has remained a vital guardian of the band's rich catalog, continuing to tour and honor the legacy of one of Scotland's greatest rock band.
