Bringing the Outside In 🌿 We are thrilled to share one of our favorite Davis Carter Scott projects: Ramboll.

In an era where we spend 90% of our time indoors, we decided it was time to change what "indoors" feels like. Designed with the core principles of biophilic design, Ramboll isn't just an office - it’s an ecosystem.

Why Biophilia?
It’s more than just "adding plants." It’s about the human-nature connection. For the Ramboll project, we focused on:

Natural Analogues: Using organic shapes and textures that mimic the complexity of the natural world.

Living Walls: Integrating air-purifying greenery that breathes life into the workspace.

Dynamic Light: Maximizing circadian rhythms to boost energy and well-being.

Tactile Materials: Prioritizing raw wood, stone, and sustainable fibers.

‘Every time we as Black Americans stand up for what is right, they say it’s for greed of money. It’s a fight for longevity.’ - Margie Eugene-Richard 🌿

Today we honor a true pioneer of environmental justice. Growing up just 25 feet from a chemical plant fence line in Norco, Louisiana, Margie refused to accept the 'status quo' of toxic emissions in her community.

She didn't just protest; she educated. She organized 'bucket brigades' to teach neighbors how to monitor air quality and traveled to the UN to speak on environmental racism. Her persistence led to a landmark victory: Shell agreed to reduce emissions and fund the relocation of her entire neighborhood to safety.

Margie’s legacy teaches us that environmental education is a tool for liberation. 🌎💪

Margie’s fight is our 'why.' We are dedicated to educating and inspiring the real estate community to integrate sustainable practices into every facet of life because sustainability is justice in action. Let’s keep building the longevity she envisioned. 🌿✨

Today, we are celebrating a true barrier-breaker in environmental leadership. In 2009, Lisa P. Jackson made history as the first African American to serve as the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Lisa Jackson’s career is a masterclass in using science and policy to protect our world. After making history as the first Black EPA Administrator, she took her expertise to Apple, where she now leads the company’s environmental and social initiatives.

She has spent her career proving that you don’t have to choose between a thriving planet and a thriving business - we can (and must) have both.

Lisa is a reminder that Black history isn't just about the past - it’s about the leaders who are engineering our future. 🚀✨

We believe in the 'gold economy' Lisa envisions. To us, sustainability is the ultimate engine for innovation.
