The Vermilion Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the official schedule for the 60th Annual Festival of the Fish, taking place June 19–21, 2026 in Downtown Vermilion!

Join us as we celebrate six decades of one of Ohio’s favorite waterfront festivals with three days of family fun, live entertainment, great food, a midway, the Crazy Craft Regatta, Lighted Boat Parade, Father’s Day Parade, fireworks over Lake Erie, and so much more.

The 2026 theme, “The Codfather”, celebrates the festival’s 60th anniversary with a fun Vermilion twist on a classic favorite.

For 60 years, the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce and the Festival of the Fish Committee have proudly brought our community together for one of Ohio’s favorite waterfront traditions, the Festival of the Fish in beautiful Downtown Vermilion, Ohio. As we celebrate this milestone 60th Anniversary, we are incredibly grateful for the dedicated agencies, organizations, safety personnel, and community partners who work together behind the scenes to help provide a safe, enjoyable, and memorable fireworks experience for thousands of residents and visitors each year.

Join us June 19–21, 2026, as Downtown Vermilion comes alive with live entertainment, food vendors, family fun, waterfront activities, parades, and festival traditions that have created generations of memories along the shores of Lake Erie.

The Festival of the Fish Fireworks Display will take place Friday, June 19th, launching from the detached break wall at the mouth of the Vermilion River at dusk (approximately 9:45 PM). This spectacular show over Lake Erie remains one of the highlights of the festival weekend and a tradition families look forward to year after year.

From our marine safety teams and emergency responders to our community sponsors and volunteers, this event is only possible because of the incredible teamwork and support from those committed to keeping our celebration safe while preserving the spirit of Vermilion’s beloved Festival of the Fish.

SAFETY NOTICE: 2026 FIREWORKS DISPLAY

Dear Vermilion Residents, Visitors, and Boaters,

As part of the 60th Annual Vermilion Festival of the Fish, the Vermilion Chamber & Festival Committee will host the annual fireworks display on Friday, June 19, 2026. The fireworks will be launched from the detached break wall at the entrance to the Vermilion River.

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for all, please review the following safety guidelines and temporary restrictions:

SAFETY ZONES & BOATING RESTRICTIONS
• The west river entrance will be closed to boat traffic once fireworks are positioned.
• All boat traffic must use the east river entrance.
• The Vermilion River will be fully closed from approximately 9:30 PM–11:00 PM, or later if necessary.
• Fireworks are scheduled to begin at approximately 9:45 PM
• Five to six temporary buoys will establish a 500-foot safety zone surrounding the detached break wall.
• Boaters may safely view the fireworks north of the designated safety buoys.
• The piers at Main Street Beach and Lagoon Beach will be closed to spectators during the fireworks display.

PARKING & STREET ACCESS
To maintain clear access for emergency personnel and public safety vehicles:

• No parking will be permitted from Huron Street to Main Street Beach beginning at 11:59 PM on Thursday, June 18 through 11:00 PM on Friday, June 19.
• This restricted area is reserved for emergency access only.
• Vehicles parked in restricted areas will be towed at the owner’s expense.

BEST VIEWING LOCATIONS
• On the lake outside the designated safety zone
• Main Street Beach
• Festival grounds in Downtown Vermilion

We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to provide a safe and memorable fireworks experience for everyone attending the Festival of the Fish. These temporary measures are necessary to protect residents, visitors, boaters, volunteers, and emergency personnel.
