I'm overwhelmed...would be an understatement. I truly appreciate all the words and actions of support people have shown. DreamHaven is a small operation; we're closed on Sundays (I rest sometimes) and our website is not used to handling so many orders. We'll be back in the store on Monday morning and we'll be happy to sort out everyone's orders, questions and comments then. Until then, I'm resting up a bit and calming myself down from my anger and sadness. Be well and safe everyone.

A cold, wet start this morning but nothing’s are looking up!

Dad and I are on the road and on the way to the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival in Half Moon Bay, CA. Set up in the wee early morning hours Saturday morning, and the show run all Saturday and Sunday.

Weather is looking like it will be just this side of perfect... no rain, no scorching heat. Yippee!!!!!

What can I say?

HOT, sweaty day.

Mostly set up.

Start again early tomorrow morning.

Dad and I will be on display at the Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival in Santa Clara, CA.

Unfortunately, they can't be tagged or located on Facebook for easy locating, so all I can say is.... find your way to the Central park in Santa Clara, CA (THAT I can tag!). We are in booths 148 & 149.

FB appears to be deleting many of my comments and posts today... and may be on track to removing me for some reason...

Should I vanish from FB or any of the groups I admin/participate in, just reach me through our other channels if needed....

While it WOULD be a nice vacation I suppose, I'm concerned for the core groups I admin.

Starting to tread a bit more cautiously....

I love books.... have I mentioned this before? I deal in books as well...

Blah blah... I get these badges from time to time which is kind of silly...

STILL, here on social media, one of the best ways you can support booksellers... dealers... even publishers... people doing the right and proper work of researching, unearthing, archiving, collecting, preserving, saving, handling, living and BREATHING books, and then bringing forth their passion for all of us to see, learn and maybe even HAVE... it's not the easiest or most lucrative of things one can do.

If you have someone or several you know, support, appreciate... ENGAGE with their posts. SHARE OUT THEIR BUSINESS, or special offerings, or revelations or studies... It's very crowded here on the Internets Googling Tubes with visibility and confidence being quite a challenge, and gathering books and bringing them TO market for is proper work.

The more we interact with the posts, share the links, it's puts us out there MORE for people to see and find us. I like to say it takes a Village, and it does. And it's by now a canned and cheesy thing to say, but EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS.

I love books... I think I've mentioned this before, but I also collect, dabble & deal in ephemera also...

I don't normally put my eBay listings here to the feed, but about a month or so ago, I acquired a small collection of vintage handbills/leaflets/flyers/documents from the late 60's & early 70's... these are historical documents from the Peace/Antiwar Movements & Committees that were bring all the demonstrations, protests and rallys across the nation, speaking out against the Vietnam War...

This collection has been a trove of rabbit holes I've fallen into, while I've been digging into dates, locations, the happenings... WHERE these papers have been, what they were a part of...

By The Vietnam Moratorium Committee. About:This essay was put out by the Vietnam Moratorium Committee, circa 1969 or 1970. It is NOT dated, but based on the actions discussed in the essay, I'm confident in my dating. it COULD be 1971, I suppose.

And away we go!

Dad and I are on our way to the San Luis Obispo Art in the Park, at Santa Rosa Park in SLO. We set up today, and it starts tomorrow morning at 9am. This a first time event, and we are looking forward to it. It’s close to Morro Bay, an area where we have also been on display, and that whole COMMUNITY in that area supports artists and crafters. Steve Powers, the man who produces the event, and his entire team, including volunteers, they know what they are about and put on a solid event. We are really looking forward to this weekend… nice weather, reconnecting with gypsy friends, and seeing dad’s copper work find it’s way to new loving homes!
