If you’re an adult and interested in helping facilitate and organize Jr. Fair shows and events please read the information below!

We are currently looking for dedicated adult volunteers to help organize and facilitate our Junior Fair shows and events! If you would be interested, please consider applying to be a VW Co. Jr. Fair Superintendent today!

Application Deadline is May 31st.

Superintendent Position Description
• Prepare for and operate Junior Shows during the Van Wert County Fair in cooperation with the Junior Fair Board (includes arena set up/program changes/ring help)
• Review the rules for the Junior Fair Department and assist in updating rules to meet current industry standards with advisement from the 4-H/FFA Educators, the Jr. Fair Coordinator, and Jr. Fair Board
• Assign and schedule stall assignments for exhibitors in cooperation with the JFC and Educators
• Conduct summer and fair weigh-ins in cooperation with JFC and Educators
• Coordinate Junior Fair Department meeting with families and exhibitors during the fair
• Work closely with Junior Fair Coordinator, Senior Fair Directors, and 4-H & FFA leadership to prepare, facilitate, organize the junior fair.

Congratulations to Elyssa for representing Van Wert Jr Fair against 75 other fair queens from across the state! A top 5 was chosen to advance to Saturday’s crowning event. Although she did not advance, we are proud of the work she has put in to showcase everything our county has to offer and are thrilled to see the year she will have ahead. Congratulations and thank you, Elyssa! 👑

A reminder that beef project registration is due this Saturday!

Beef registration is now open for ALL beef projects to complete the animal ID process. Please see the weigh-in results below if needed.

2026 Beef Weigh-In Reminder!

The 2026 Beef Weigh-In will take place this Saturday at the beef barn from 9:00–11:00 AM.
All trailers should enter through Gate 2.

All steers and market heifers that will be exhibited at the 2026 Junior Fair are required to be weighed in and tagged at this time.

Yesterday, our board held its first meeting for the 2026 Jr. Fair. Members participated in team-building activities, signed up for committees, and reviewed two handbook items. The board also elected the officers for the 2026 Jr. Fair Board.

We are proud to announce the 2026 officers:

🐮 Livestock Check Information 🐷

Livestock sale checks will be available for pickup at the Extension Office starting Wednesday, November 12th. Exhibitors will have three weeks to pick up their checks. After that date, checks will be postmarked and mailed out.

A few important reminders for pickup:
1. Whoever is picking up the check must have the exhibitor’s Jr. Fair ID.
2. The Extension Office hours are 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Please be courteous of these hours when making arrangements.
