Taggin' & Braggin' Youth Deer Hunting Competition Local business owners collaborating to create an annual event for the youth of Monroe, Randolph & St. Clair counties in Illinois.

**LONG BUT IMPORTANT POST. PLEASE READ!!!**

Now that youth season is over, we're looking forward to our Awards Ceremony on Saturday, October 17th at 12:30pm at Fountain Inn in Valmeyer! COME EARLY, BRING LAWN CHAIRS & CASH!! We have some great prizes to give away thanks to our amazing sponsors!

*You must be present to win all BIG-TICKET ITEMS. The only exception is if you earned a place for largest deer. (You will still receive the money.) If your name is drawn from the harvest or participant pool and you are not there, your prize can be picked up by a friend or family member that is present.

*We have 3 prize pools: (1) the participant pool-everyone who registered for T&B is in this pool, (2) the harvest pool-everyone who checked in a deer, is also in this pool and (3) The BIG-TICKET ITEM pool- everyone who is registered for T&B is also in this pool.

*If your name is called for a prize, you will go to the prize pick up table and volunteers will hand you your item(s) and direct you where to go from there. We will be taking a lot of photos!

*We also have some great g*u*n*s to give away. Parents, please bring your FOID card and Driver's License with you. The paperwork will be done immediately after the child gets their photo taken with that item and the sponsor (if applicable). Pickup will be coordinated with John's G*u*n Shop.

*Every child registered for T&B will get a free T-shirt and deer pin. Please check in at the T-shirt table when you arrive or anytime after the event is over to pick them up.

*There will be 50/50 raffles held throughout the day that will benefit the Waterloo Lead Heads Trap Shooting Team.

*The Route 3 Riots 11U baseball team will be selling raffle tickets for a R***r 400 Legend and cash prizes-this drawing will happen around 3:00pm (Need not be present to win)

*The Monroe County Shrine Club will be selling a 54 card chance to win a R***r 400 Legend-This money will be used to fund a lifetime hunting license for next year's T&B event.

*The Valmeyer Bucs Baseball Team will be selling food from 11:45-?

*The Waterloo Lead Heads will have a water and soda stand outside from 11:45-? Please buy as many N/A drinks from them, as the bar inside will be busy serving the adults.

**A Deer Blind raffle will be held around 3pm. Tickets are $20/ea and still available. (Need not be present to win). Proceeds go to fund the WHS Shop Class (who builds the blind each year) & the rest is used to fund next year's T&B event.

All proceeds benefit the organizations selling the items/tickets. The bar at Fountain Inn will be open and ready to serve you starting at 11. Taggin' & Braggin' wouldn't be possible without them. We encourage you to come down & support local!

Whew, the Taggin' and Braggin' committee has been busy sorting through all of these awesome prizes!!! We cannot wait for Saturday to give these away to the smiling kiddos! All the prizes have been numbered, inventoried, and loaded up for Saturday.

With the generous help of our sponsors, we are happy to announce that EACH CHILD PRESENT is guaranteed to win something!! That's right, we have enough prizes (and I'm talking gooood prizes valued $40-$1700) that everyone who is registered and present will go home with something!

THAT'S A WRAP!!! Congratulations to all of the hunters who harvested a deer this weekend! IT WAS A HOT ONE! We look forward to seeing you all down at Fountain Inn Saturday for the prize giveaway!!! A big thank you goes out to the Waterloo Optimist Club for helping with weighing in the deer and to Mark and Bethany Miller for being such gracious hosts all weekend.

Day 2 of youth season!!! You can check in your deer today or Monday from 9am-8:30pm at Fountain Inn. Remember only one deer can be checked in per hunter. Also, in order to be in Taggin' & Braggin', you do have to be pre-registered and registration filled up a few weeks ago. If you are not registered, we can still weigh your deer for you!

Join us in the evenings for 'Youth Deer Camp' from 6:30-8:30pm. We provide the firepit and s'mores ingredients. Your provide the deer stories!!
