What a ride!
We are still buzzing from the energy of the 76th Annual Western Days Parade, and our hearts are full.
The streets were packed, the spirit was high, and the feedback we’ve received has been absolutely overwhelming. Whether you were riding a horse, driving a float, or cheering from the curb with a cold drink (or the ever-popular Bloody Mary Club-we know you!), you made this year one of the best in our long-standing history.
This year was extra special because Western Days is now officially part of the ever-growing Valley Center Business Association (VCBA). Integrating with the VCBA has provided a new backbone for our favorite tradition, ensuring that the local businesses and community leaders who make this town thrive are directly involved in keeping the community spirit alive. We are thrilled to be part of this growing family!
To the equestrians, the classic car owners, the non-profits, and the businesses who spent your own time building floats—thank you. Your creativity and dedication are the heartbeat of this event. To the families who have made this a yearly tradition for decades and the newcomers experiencing it for the first time—thank you. Seeing the community come together is exactly why we do this.
We’ll be honest with you: not long ago, we were seriously considering making last year our final year. We weren't sure if the spark was still there or if the tradition could keep going.
But wow, did you prove us wrong. This weekend reminded us that Western Days isn't just a date on the calendar; it’s the soul of Valley Center. Your incredible turnout and positivity have completely recharged us.
Because of you, we aren't just looking back at 76 great years—we’re looking forward to many more. Thank you for keeping the legend alive! We're sorry we didn't organize a festival this year...with our limited volunteer crew and other factors (rodeo, etc.), we felt the best decision was to skip the festival this year.
