Boone Birding Festival A FREE festival celebrating the unique birding opportunities in the NC High Country! FREE! to 3:00 p.m.

On Saturday, April 8, 2017, the Boone Birding Festival will take place in Valle Crucis Community Park, from 10:00 a.m. Enjoy birdwalks through the large park, around the pond and along the bank of the Watauga River. Talk to area birding experts about the bluebird nesting box project in the park. Grandfather Mountain naturalist, Lauren Lampley, will conduct a program at 11 a.m. titled "Birds and so

Park amenities include a picnic shelter, restrooms, playground equipment, paved walkways, and ball fields.
