Hi friends, in honor of Global Running Day I was able to secure a 25% discount for the first 10 people for each one of the two races mentioned in this post. They are awesome Flagstaff races one is in August and  the other in October. I’ve run in both of them in the past and they’re extremely well done with great swag. Hey, I just got an email for the Jingle Trail 5k today I attached a photo with the code spooky24  to get 31% off the next couple days. Use it or lose it. It’s a great race for a great cause the cross country team and with your new unwrapped toy toys for tots and like I said they raised over 750 toys last year that’s help them exceeded their goal this year. I want to thank everybody who participated in our running events in the past. One of my favorite projects was working with Beads of Courage. We put on several races for them Beads on the Farm 5K in Arizona, Beads on the Bay 5K in San Diego and Beads in the Park 5K in Bellingham Washington. Photos attached are from Beads in the Park in Bellingham, Washington. There’s also some photos of me with beads I have carried and received from founder Jean Gibbons.
I first found out about Beads of Courage when I was watching CBS Sunday Morning they had a segment on it and after I watched it I said I want to do a race for them someday. Sometime later, I was contacted by them to see if I would want to host a run for them. I will attach a link to the video from the TV show.
My daughter,Wife and myself have spent many a day volunteering packing beads for kids with cancer. I used to have another photo site that I put pictures on before I started to put them all on Facebook and that company closed down and everything was lost so I don’t have any photo albums of those races just some random photos on Facebook. I know I have a photo somewhere in my Facebook of the awards that were handmade by Jean that said on them, can’t catch me for the overall winners.
Well, the reason for this post is that they’re trying to raise money for their forever home, and it’s getting close to when they need to have all the money they’re still short many thousands of dollars. If you’re so inclined and in a place where you could donate that would be most appreciative. I know when I first heard about it I donated $50 and said how it would be just about as much as I would pay for a 5K these days. Maybe you are in a position where you could do the same donate and go out for a run in honor of them. Check out their website https://beadsofcourage.org/ it’s a very worthwhile charity that uses beads for kids to tell their story as they go through cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
