The Buckeye Stampede is a wild west show, rodeo style gymkhana series. Arena Royalty Grand Welcome; Salute to the Stars and Stripes; The Ohio Top Hands Rodeo Team; Contestant Grand Stampede; Matthew Sigler Memorial Sweep (first Arena King of the Buckeye Cowboy Gymkhana Series, 2008)

Kettering Holiday at Home parade, Monday Sep 5, steps off at 10 am ~ The Buckeye Stampede is entered in the parade and any gymkhana contestants are welcome to ride in the parade. Contact Ginger Patrick (937) 673-0703 or Jeannie Johnson via this site, if you want to ride in the parade.

The Top Hands are looking for a few good riders and horses. Anyone interested in doing something more with your horse, contact Ginger at (937) 673-0703.
Horses 14.2 - 16 hands
No gaited horses, no ponies, no arabians or draft horse breeds
Riders must be physically fit and of average build, to fit team costume
Practices will be held in the area of Urbana, Ohio until otherwise determined by the location of the majority of riders.

The Ohio Gymkhana Association will present a clinic at Equine Affaire in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, April 9th at 5:45 pm in the covered arena. The OGA Clinic will feature the 14 events that are run at the Buckeye Stampede Top Hand Series Gymkhana, which is held at the Champaign County Fairgrounds in Urbana. THE TOP HANDS will be at the Clark County Tack Swap on Jan 31 at the fairgrounds expo center in Springfield, Ohio ~ promoting the gymkhana series and looking for new Top Hand candidates.

THE 2016 SERIES HAS 14 EVENTS!
7 are individual events
7 are team events --- this year team points will count toward a trophy breastcollar (2 per team)

points in all 14 events however count toward the trophy saddles :)

I'm hearing from a lot of riders who want to dress western, as cowboys or Indians and so we are going to dress the show staff accordingly, as well --- THIS IS YOUR SHOW, the more fun and colorful you make it, the more wonderful it will be and the more delightful your memories will be. See you in April!

PS anyone out there that was interested in riding with the Top Hands, chime in because our winter practices begin this Saturday. It's an excellent way to ride your horse through the winter, and you get to do so much more with your horse than you ever did, before.

Saturday, November 7th is the last Buckeye Stampede of the year! If the weather is nice, come camp with us Friday night and share a barbecue! Saturday's show will have guest performers Ginger and The Top Hands ~ the show we performed for six consecutive weekends at the Old West Festival in Williamsburg, Ohio. Year-end awards given at the end of the show on Saturday, and the showbill for 2016 will be available for everyone to take home and share with your friends and to mark you calendars for next year! Thank you, everyone, for making the first year of the Buckeye Stampede a success.
