The 2026 CU Tango Music Festival milonga brings together our guests artists, local tango band Bandoneon Massacre, and Midwest guest musicians for a magical night celebrating the beauty and drama of tango music and dance.

The milonga features music from our 20+-piece festival orquesta and DJ Mariano Bejarano along with special live-music dance performances from Daniela Roig and Hernán Prieto as well as Paloma Berrios and Maximiliano Alvarado. You will not want to miss this one-of-a-kind evening in the enchanting ballroom at Urbana Dance Company.

Are you a string player curious about tango music? Explore the origins of the music of Astor Piazzolla. This free workshop led by tango cellist Maxfield Wollam-Fisher is an introduction to how to make a tango sound like tango. Open to all levels.
