Today, my glass journey led me somewhere I never expected.

For 15 years, old windows and forgotten glass have taken me on some incredible adventures… but today felt different. Emotional. Heavy. Humbling.

I got a call from a gentleman asking if I could use some old window glass. Of course, I said yes, and my husband once again agreed to join me on another one of my wild “glass chases.”

When we arrived, I realized we were standing at a Veterans Museum in Germantown, Ohio. Inside were 1000’s of pieces of history from World War II, the Civil War, and stories of heroes whose bravery is hard to even imagine.

As we walked through the building carrying sheets of old glass one by one, you could feel it, the weight of sacrifice, courage, loss, and pride all around you. The curator shared stories that honestly left us speechless and emotionally touched.

What started as a simple trip to pick up old glass became a moment I’ll never forget. Sometimes the materials we rescue carry far more than age… they carry history, emotion, and the stories of those who came before us. ❤️ Thank you for the glass and for preserving our hero’s stories! Gary Beall
