WHAT A DAY! ⚔️⛵
More than 700 of you joined us for the Hamble Valley Regatta and what a Sunday afternoon it was!
There was Medieval-themed mayhem on the water, with knights, princesses and assorted medieval characters taking to dinghies, paddleboards and all manner of floating craft. There was plenty of laughter, a fair bit of splashing – and some surprisingly serious competition once the races got underway!
The b**r tent had to rush out for more barrels 🍺, the food van had sold out by 3.30pm, and the racing was fiercely contested, with the largest gig entry ever seen on the river.
And a big congratulations to the dinghy racers who braved rain and squalls on the Saturday!
With the vicar judging the fancy dress and our MP, Paul Holmes, starting the final race and drawing the raffle, it was a true village-style event.
Best of all was seeing so many families and first-time visitors joining in!
And we’re already thinking about 2027, when the Regatta theme will be AVIATION ✈️, celebrating the centenary of pioneering aviation events on and around the Hamble River. Bring on the pilot and air-crew costumes!
A huge thank you to everyone who came, competed, volunteered and supported us.
The Regatta is run entirely by volunteers and funded through donations.
