Wow! What a weekend. First and foremost I’d like to thank everyone that fished in our tournament. When Hunter and Lauren talked about doing a “little” tournament between a few of us on September 11 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 I had no idea it would grow to this. I wanted to make it something that would benefit The Fallen Outdoors and Heroes on the Water. The Fallen is a military veteran group and HOW is a veteran/first responders group. I started reaching out to my Striper Fishing buddies. Begged for Donations from companies. It all came together. We had 27 teams that was made up of 95 Anglers including 14 ladies and 6 youth. A total of 43 fish with a combined weight of over 300 pounds were caught. We were able to raise $4k for these organizations. I am humbled by my friends. You make me proud to be an Veteran. Thank you to the American Legion for helping. There’s no way to name everyone individually. We had a fish fry afterwards that was delicious. Let us never forget 9/11. So many companies donated to this event. Captains meeting tomorrow. 5-8 PM at 2000 Old Salem School Rd. This is the blue shop at the top of the hill at Marina. We will have T-shirts available to purchase as well as raffle tickets. If you are coming by boat you can register at the marina. We would like the bulk of the registration to happen at the shop due to the marina having live music and will be a very busy place.
