****SPOTLIGHT POST****
Today, Iβd like to spotlight a truly wonderful woman who has made a lasting impact on drag racing here at Great Lakes Dragaway β Sarah Brown.
Sarah is a racer herself and has been competing since 2004. Her passion for the sport led her to create Ladies Night in 2009 with a simple but powerful goal: get more women behind the wheel and down the racetrack.
What started as an opportunity for women to bring out their daily drivers and experience the excitement of drag racing has grown into an incredible community that continues to thrive today. Through her dedication, encouragement, and leadership, Sarah has helped countless women gain confidence behind the wheel, learn the sport, and become part of the racing family.
Over the years, many of the women who first made passes in their street cars during Ladies Night have gone on to build and compete with full-blown race cars.
The friendships, mentorships, and support system that have developed are a direct reflection of Sarahβs vision and commitment to helping others succeed.
Her passion for drag racing and her willingness to welcome newcomers into the sport have helped strengthen the racing community at Great Lakes Dragaway and created opportunities for generations of women racers.
Thank you, Sarah, for everything you have done and continue to do for women in motorsports. Your impact can be seen every Wednesday night when women line up in the staging lanes, ready to take their shot down the quarter-mile. ππ©·
