Meet the Musician: ELLIOTT DEVAUGHN

Elliott takes the stage during Music in the Park party on Friday, June 26 at 6pm. Bring a chair, grab a bite, and enjoy the show!

{image id: green background with white cutout music notes in tan and black. Photo of Elliott. Text reads “Elliott DeVaughn. www.elliottdevaughn.com .devaughn. Elliott Devaughn is a singer-songwriter and musician from Booneville, MS. Growing up surrounded by various types of music, she found herself particularly drawn to indie folk rock. A chance encounter with Mississippi musician Jimbo Mathus inspired her to take progressive guitar lessons from him. In addition to her guitar training, Elliott is experimenting with other instruments, including synthesizers and drum machines. Most recently, she has taken up bass guitar to enhance her rhythm skills and become a more well-rounded multi-instrumentalist, ready to shine at upcoming music events. Elliott’s sound, a captivating blend of indie folk rock, is heavily influenced by iconic bands such as Sonic Youth, The Velvet Underground, and The Strokes. Elements of Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, and Fiona Apple resonate in Elliott’s clear, airy voice. As a passionate Mississippi musician, she strives to discover more diverse sounds to enrich her ever-growing and unique tone. At the beginning of 2025, Elliott fully immersed herself in her music career. In April 2025, her song “Fell in Love Too Fast“ won first place at the University of North Alabama’s songwriter competition. She is actively booking music events and is planning to record more songs later in the year. Helen Keller Festival. Friday June 26 6:00pm. Spring Park, Tuscumbia.“}
