After lengthy discussions and soul searching we are saddened to announce that the Tupelo BBQ Duel is cancelled.
As much as we love the event, love the people and love what it does for Tupelo, the goal has always been to be a fund raiser for Link Centre. We really struggled this past year with grants and sponsors, that coupled with the decline in team attendance resulted in the event being unsuccessful as a fund raiser. The hard decision was made to put the energy and man power into other fundraising opportunities.
The world of BBQ is full of some of the most amazing people. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your family.
Our sponsors have stood by us and supported us for the past 7 years. Their generosity and commitment have made this all possible.
The volunteers, WOW, devoting so much time and energy into making each year better than the last. Hundreds and hundreds of hours making sure that teams, judges and our community had what they needed and wanted. Without the volunteers, the event would never have happened, so I say again, WOW and thank you.
We have made lifelong friendships with so many and value those relationships. What incredible people you all are!!! The Tupelo BBQ Duel is now a part of our history and we thank you for being a part of it.
