Important Announcement for those who love the Tulsa Workshop

Dear Tulsa Workshop Family,

Our God is always up to something, isn’t He? One of the greatest joys of living in the kingdom is watching God do more than we could have ever imagined or hoped for, and then seeing Him do it over and over again!

We are overjoyed with the abundant fruit the Spirit has allowed via the Tulsa Workshop. Since 1976, this event has inspired congregations and blessed nations. However, God has been showing us through decreasing attendance and financial support that He is doing things in other ways now, and rather than continuing to fight against it, we are ready to join in His new works.

Therefore, in order to clear the way for fresh ideas to reach the hearts of our neighbors, we are announcing the retirement of the Tulsa Workshop, including the Workshop we had planned for this year, 2017. Though this has been a difficult decision, it is also the right one as we seek to follow God rather than nostalgia or our own selfish desires.

We aren’t finished trying to reach the whole world! This decision will help free up resources in order that God might show us all new and better ways to win souls for eternity.

Thank you, Workshop family, for a mighty 40 year run!! As you have opportunity, please share with others some of the wonderful moments and experiences that made the Workshop special to you! We have loved our time together, and now join with you in anticipating God’s next move.

Coach Jim White closes out The Tulsa Workshop at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jim's life was depicted by Kevin Costner in the movie "McFarland, U.S.A" last year. The movie touches on several social and cultural themes that are highly important to consider in our world today. Come hear Jim tell more of his story, and be inspired by a man who chose to let his light shine!

Jim is the founder and director of Rural America Ministries (R.A.M.), and is devoted to equipping and encouraging small churches to do excellent ministry in their context. We love our presenters that come from big churches, but realize that living out the kingdom in smaller, rural settings has its own unique challenges and burdens. Come hear about what others are doing and make some great new connections to help you in your work!

TRACK 8 - Darrel Mantooth - Elder Symposium: A Discussion on Shepherding the Body of Christ

Darrel has been a shepherd in multiple churches, including Memorial Drive in Tulsa. If you are a shepherd at your local church, this is the track for you. Come be a part of the discussion as we discuss our roles, our strengths, our weaknesses, and our dreams for the flock.

Marc is the Celebrate Recovery Minister for the Park Plaza Church of Christ here in Tulsa. The reality is that many in your church struggle with hurts, habits, and hangups, and we as leaders need to be equipped to help minister to them where they are. Come be equipped!

TRACK 6 - Sean Palmer - The Healing of the Nations: Why You Are the Color You Are and What God Is Trying To Prove

Sean is the preaching minister for The Vine Church in Temple, TX. Race relations is one of the most volitile topics in society today. HOSS opens for GOFF

Get to your seats early on Friday evening (6:15) and be entertained by family-friendly comedian Hoss Ridgeway. Hoss is a minister at the Morgantown Church of Christ in West Virginia, and is fresh from making our teens laugh at Winterfest. After hours and hours of deep Bible study and thought-provoking classes, Hoss will be a welcome break!

The Workshop Kids Praise Chorus will be back on Friday night as well! Always a highlight of the Workshop, our kids ages K-6th will learn two songs on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and present them to us on Friday evening.

The Tulsa Workshop is a 4 day conference hosted by the Memorial Drive Church of Christ at The Tulsa Fairgrounds (EXPO Square) April 6-9, 2016. This is our 41st annual Workshop!

Featured speakers this year include bestselling author Bob Goff (Love Does) on Friday, April 8, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 9, at 11:00 a.m., as well as Coach Jim White (inspiration for the movie McFarland, U.S.A.) at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9.

Join us for some incredible a ca****la worship at our keynotes at 7:00 p.m. each evening in the Pavilion. We'll also have classes all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 100 booths to visit in the Exchange Center.
