DAY 5 — LEGACY & RECONCILIATION 🎬

It’s the final day of the 6th Annual Greenwood Film Festival, and we’re closing with stories that challenge us to think about what we inherit—and what we choose to leave behind.

Today’s films explore history, entrepreneurship, education, relationships, reconciliation and building forward:

🎥 Annie Turnbo Malone: The Untold Story (3:20pm)
🎥 The End (4:35pm)
🎥 Stolen School (4:45pm)
🎥 The Georgetown 272: The Journey (5:25pm)
🎥 S.O.S. (6:30pm)
🎥 Dysphoria (7:17pm)
🎥 PowerNomics: Based on the Life and Work of Dr. Claud Anderson (7:30pm)

From Black economic empowerment and entrepreneurship to education, love and confronting difficult chapters of our history, Day 5 asks one important question:

What do we do with the legacy we inherited?

Join us as we close out five days of powerful independent cinema, conversation and community in Tulsa.

Five days. Powerful stories. Conversations that matter. 🎬

The 6th Annual Greenwood Film Festival returns to Tulsa September 6–10, 2026, bringing filmmakers and communities together through Culture. Truth. Inspiration.

This year's festival explores fatherhood and family, justice and accountability, youth and mentorship, faith and resilience, and legacy and reconciliation through independent films, filmmaker conversations, hands-on workshops, and community engagement.

From stories that challenge the systems around us to stories that remind us of the power of faith, family, history, love, and legacy—we believe film should do more than entertain. It should make us think, talk, learn, and move.

🎥 Featured selections include PowerNomics: Based on the Life and Work of Dr. Claud Anderson, A House Between Worlds, Kidnapping Cartel, One Last Breath, The Sight Unseen, Alex & Mor + more.

📍 OSU -Tulsa. Auditorium

Here's the line up for Father's, Sons, and Legacy on September 6!

Trust Issues | Directed by Von
Jess came to spend the weekend. Marcus thought it would be simple. But between the extra baggage, a locked phone, and a surprise knock at the door, neither of them are ready for what “trust issues” really looks like.
🔹️
Poverty Trap | Directed by Michael Matheson Miller
POVERTY TRAP examines how big plans to end poverty broke the promise of America—and what communities are doing to renew it.

From the legacy of urban renewal and the War on Poverty to today’s sprawling social services network, many of the institutions created to fight poverty have instead kept people stuck. As Lee Moore of Jackson, Mississippi says, “It’s hard to make it out.”
🔹️
Voicemails | Directed by David McDaniels, Godwin Bortey
After attending the funeral of his estranged father, Dee — the youngest General Manager in the NBA — retreats to an Airbnb with a box of belongings he never expected to receive. Inside, he discovers a phone. When he turns it on, he finds a series of unsent voicemails… all meant for him.
🔹️
A House Between Worlds | Directed by Dennis Y. Delemar
Haunted by a recurring nightmare of the day his father abandoned him, Zirael has spent his entire life convincing himself he has moved on. But when a conversation with his mother exposes long-buried truths, he finds himself drawn into a mysterious world where memories, guilt, and generational wounds take physical form. As the line between reality and illusion begins to blur, Zirael must confront the pain he has spent years running from—or remain trapped in the cycle that has defined his life.
