I am so happy and proud of our new Grim House Community Coordinator kennedy she literally eats at video production!
Kennerz is such a bright young woman ready for anything and everything. I trained her on the video controller and obs like 2 hours before show because I’m mid at being a boss, and quite gangster-like…she straight up slayed on our very first live stream ever! purrrr gurlie!!! 💅💪
As for the stream… I learned A LOT on this day about certain things I hadn’t considered before, such as the need for a separate audio mix going out yo the stream as the show’s mix itself was completely built around and tuned to the main room at Grim House, thus the settings were much too hot and wildly dynamic for the live stream.
We are tackling this issue by running a completely separate mix simultaneously to a digital interface and then to a DAW. This allows us to get Studio quality audio where we may add tune if an artist asks, plugins (eq compression, eq limiter, fx, and infinitely many more things!)
Also I am getting a 4k video encoder/decoder for way higher resolution (4k 60fps) while still decreasing latency from the Avkans controller.
The goal: A band should be able to play Grim House, receive the finished Grim House performance video, put it next to nationally produced live-session content on YouTube, and not feel like ours is amateur production.
