Today on Día de San Juan, we joined our community to welcome the monsoons and celebrate 🎉this new season. Thank you to Liza Grant and the Menlo Park neighborhood association for bringing the community together.

Getting ready for today’s Fiesta 🎉 esta noche. We hope to see you all at 6pm at Mission Garden, 946 W Mission Lane. The celebration goes until 10pm. 🪅🌧️

Menlo Park invites you to attend the 25th annual Día de San Juan Fiesta 🪅 this Saturday, June 24th at Mission Garden, 946 W Mission Lane, 6pm-10pm.

Did you experience the lightning ⚡️ and virga 🌧️that passed over us as we slept last night? It’s coming, it’s building, soon the hot air will draw the rains in.

Traditional blessings and prayers for an abundant rain ☔️ begin at 6pm. We will be joined by Pima County Supervisor , .luna.7 from the Office of Mayor Romero , Councilmember Lane Santa Cruz () from , and Betty Villegas () will be our Emcee.

There will be live music, Mariachi, and Logan Phillips DJ Dirtyverbs ()will provide a Cumbia soundtrack to close out the evening.

Be sure to bring your appetite and come ready to support our local food trucks: 🇧🇴 🇲🇽 🍦aguas frescas 🍉🥭for sale from la mamá de , and a new, last minute addition from Eatgypt will be there to provide vegan and vegetarian Egyptian food.

Plenty of parking, though we encourage you to walk, bike, carpool and take transit (all is easy to do in Menlo Park), and there is no entrance fee.

There will be many community partners on hand from Pima County Department of Environmental Quality, and more.

We look forward to celebrating with you. ⚡️🌧️⚡️

This photo was taken in 1952 at the west branch crossing of the Santa Cruz River at Silverlake Road.
If you happened to find yourself on the wrong side of the river during a monsoon you'd have to take the long way to find a crossing. The nearest was probably north at Congress Street or south at Ajo Way.
