TODAY! A chance to hear directly from the people shaping agave on the ground, across landscapes and generations.

Setting Up an Agave Farm shares what it really takes to establish agave in drylands, from first decisions to long-term success.

Agave Cultivation & Traditions Across Mexico explores generations of knowledge shaping how agave is grown across regions and communities.

Regenerative Agriculture in Arid Landscapes provides their insights to practical approaches to soil, water, and resilience in working desert systems.

We also have La Tierra del Jaguar, Borderlands Restoration Network, Borderlands Nursery & Seed, and more bringing the party this morning!

Want to close out the festival by supporting borderlands conservation and community?

Join La Tierra del Jaguar for a special fundraiser rooted in the landscapes and relationships that make this work possible. A portion of the evening’s sales will directly support their efforts across Sonora.

Expect:
🐆 Jaguar-themed raffle prizes
🎁 Gifts from local businesses
🖇️ A chance to connect with the people behind the work

La Tierra del Jaguar brings together restoration, agroforestry, and community-led conservation. Their work centers agave as both an ecological anchor and a pathway for local resilience, supporting biodiversity, soil and water health, and livelihoods.

If you pour it, cook with it, or build menus around it - come see where it starts.

Join Robert Villa for a guided hike on Tumamoc Hill and see agave in the landscape that shapes it. We’ll look at how environment, stress, and growth influence the plant long before harvest, and what that means for flavor, yield, and character in the glass and on the plate.

This is a field experience for bartenders, chefs, and spirits professionals who want a deeper connection to agave beyond production.

🗓️ Monday April 13 | 6-7:30 PM

Future of Water brings forward student work from The University of Arizona College of Fine Arts, where art, design, and AR meet the realities of living in the Sonoran Desert. Through illustration, motion, and immersive layers, students translate water conservation into something you can see, move through, and reflect on.

Developed through the Illustration, Design, and Animation program at The University of Arizona, this exhibition centers student voices, grounded in place and shaped by the systems that sustain life here.
