Congratulations Sharon Gardlund!

Congrats to Sharon Gardlund, the 2023 recipient for the Southern Arizona ACS Local Section. Sharon is an exemplary volunteer & leader with the Women's Chemistry Group (WCG) in the local section. The WCG hosts multiple in-person outreach events every year- events that literally engage and impact over 1,000 people every year. When asked what she enjoys most about chemistry outreach, Sharon said, "I greatly enjoy encouraging young women to consider a STEM career, and spreading the knowledge of the chemistry of 'ordinary things'!" The 2021 Rocky Mountain Regional Meeting runs from October 20-23.
The first event of the is the Opening Reception from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Arizona History Museum, featuring keynote address by Professor Miguel Garcia-Garibay of UCLA.
After the talk, join us for a panel discussion moderated by the technical session chairs.

Rocky Mountain Regional Meeting is sponsoring a safety video contest for HS (grades 9-12), undergraduate and graduate students in the Rocky Mountain Region (Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, and Arizona).

Submit 15-30 second video about the importance of lab safety with hashtags: and #(Your_school’s name/Grade Level).

Prizes: 1st-$75, 2nd-$50
