Every year during the Tucson Fringe Festival, a range of artists have a chance to showcase unconventional, experimental work without censorship. It is modeled after the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where performances take place in smaller, more intimate spaces, outside of mainstream theaters. Preview The Scoundrel & Scamp Theatre and The Historic Y performances at https://www.tucsonweekly.com/newsopinion/uncensored-performance-tucson-fringe-offers-space-for-experimental-pieces-to-be-developed.

Just two days left to order a T-shirt for the 2026 Fringe Festival. We have unisex and female styles. Not interested in a T-shirt, you can just send a donation only through the T-shirt fundraiser page. The fundraiser ends on Dec 15 so we can get shirts delivered by Jan 2. Have it delivered to your home or pick it up at the festival. Order your shirt today!

For this year's festival, instead of buying a bunch of one type of shirt, we've decided to sell them through a fundraiser to allow for both male and female style shirt options. Purchasing a shirt not only supports the festival financially, but also advertises the festival every time you wear it. Thi...

Tucson Fringe Returns for the 14th Festival
Tucson Fringe is an unjuried, uncensored performing arts festival similar to Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

We have performers from Tucson and Coolidge, as well as Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Southern California, Utah, and Saskatchewan, Canada! There are 19 acts doing over 30 performances over the course of 4 days! Some virtual VOD content is available for 7 days. Traditional theatre, storytelling, stand-up comedy, dance, and a variety of other shows ranging from pure entertainment to gripping tales of the human condition provide this year’s festival with something for everyone.

Since 2011, Tucson Fringe has provided artists with low-risk, low-cost opportunities to perform by using economies of scale to reduce venue rental costs and by taking only 20%, and sometimes 0% of the artist’s earnings. Tucson Fringe also provides the Tucson arts community with avant-garde, non-traditional performing arts at low-cost ticket prices.

The festival does not curate or select the performances, maintaining an environment in which everyone and anyone can perform. This ensures that underrepresented artistic voices, such as people of color, the LGBT+ community, women, and other marginalized genders, are championed in our community.

It's been about a week since we started the fundraising campaign. We've had several wonderful people make donations through GoFundMe and we have a few more who have mailed physical checks which we will hopefully receive soon.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. Things are looking better for us, but now is not the time to get complacent. Don't forget to share with your friends and tell them about Fringe and what we do. There are still many folks who don't know Tucson has a fringe festival. Help us spread the word.

We have been updating our website as well with more details about Tucson Fringe including our mission, vision, and values. There's also a clearer definition of about fringe festivals and fringe theatre. If you would like to know more, please visit our website.
