The comic book community has been buzzing over the reported decision to pull John Romita Jr.'s originally announced cover for Amazing Spider-Man #1000. While fans will always have different opinions about stories, covers, and artistic styles, we believe this conversation is bigger than any single image.
At Out West, we want to express our full support for John Romita Jr.
For more than forty years, J.R JR has been one of the defining storytellers in comic book history. His work on Spider-Man, Daredevil, X-Men, Kick-Ass, Superman, and countless other titles has inspired generations of readers and artists. His bold layouts, dynamic action, and unmistakable visual style have helped shape the comic industry as we know it today.
Art is subjective. Every legendary creator, from Jack Kirby to John Romita Sr. to Frank Miller, has faced criticism at some point in their career. But history remembers the contributions they made to the medium, the characters they helped define, and the inspiration they provided to future generations. John Romita Jr. has unquestionably earned his place among those legends.
