𝘼𝙇𝙏𝙊𝙈𝙀𝙍 𝙃𝙀𝘼𝘿𝙀𝘿 𝙏𝙊 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙌𝙐𝘼𝙍𝙏𝙀𝙍𝙎!!

Showing that he just might be the biggest threat to security in the contingent of Asia next to Kim Jong Un....

𝑴𝒊𝒌𝒆𝒚 𝑨𝒍𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒓 improved to 2-0 and raised his margin of victory to 17-1 when he bullied Japan's 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐢 𝐎𝐤𝐚 to the tune of a quick 9-0 superiority decision moments ago in the 87kg Round of 16!!

Already holding a 3-0 edge after being awarded a passivity point and popping a 2pt gut from top; when action returned to to the feet, the Curby product planted Oka from feet-to-back with a body lock to up 7-0 before then completing the tech by adding another tight gut with :40 remaining in the 1st period (2:20)!

He previously upended China's 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐢 𝐖𝐚𝐣𝐢𝐭𝐢 out of the gate; hence the lame joke above :-)

The wrestling Gods clearly shining their light down upon the 2021 Minisink Valley alumnus...

In addition to his commanding performance thus far; Altomer has also been the beneficiary of some fortune in Sin City; as anticipated quarterfinal opponent, 𝐈𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐦𝐲𝐫 (2025 U23 World Runner-up), of Ukraine was upset in the qualification round...

So instead, the American will attempt to lock up a guaranteed medal opportunity when he collides with Norwegian, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐣𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐚𝐤, who has finished 14th at the 2025 U20 World Tournament, and has never placed higher than 5th (2x including U23 in '26) at a European age-group Championships!

𝙆𝙄𝘿 𝘿𝙀𝙀𝙀 𝙃𝙊𝙋𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙏𝙊 𝙃𝙄𝙏 𝘼 𝙑𝙀𝙂𝘼𝙎 𝙅𝘼𝘾𝙆𝙋𝙊𝙏 𝘼𝙏 𝙐23 𝙒𝙊𝙍𝙇𝘿𝙎!

Making his return to the age-group World Championship stage after placements of 16th (U20) and 12th (U23) respectively in 2023....

𝑴𝒊𝒌𝒆𝒚 "𝑲𝒊𝒅 𝑫𝒆𝒆𝒆" 𝑨𝒍𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒓 has exactly the kind of draw necessary in order to make a serious run at a medal within the 87kg Greco-Roman field!!

Pitted to face off against relatively uncredentialed opponents from Asian nations---𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐢 𝐖𝐚𝐣𝐢𝐭𝐢 (China) & 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐢 𝐎𝐤𝐚 (Japan), in qualification and Round of 16 bouts; the former 3x NYS placer/2x Runner-up has every reason to feel optimistic about rolling into the quarters unscathed!!

Should he succeed in "holding serve"; the level of competition will undoubtedly ramp up in the championship round of 8, as his anticipated opposition will be Ukrainian, 𝐈𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐦𝐲𝐫, who finished as the silver medalist at this event last season!

A win over Chmyr would provide a major confidence boost to the 2026 U.S. Open Senior 4th/3x age-group Pan-American finalist (2x U20 Champion); and he will need that extra momentum as there is no shortage of beasts that could emerge from the other quadrant....

The list of potential semifinal adversaries are comprised of: 𝐘𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐢 𝐘𝐚𝐳𝐝𝐢 (Iran; 2023 U20 World Runner-up; 2025 Asian Senior Runner-up), 𝐑𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐣𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐳𝐨𝐤𝐨𝐯 (Uzbekistan; 2x Asian U23 Medalist/2026 Champion; 2024 Asian Senior Bronze), & Azerbaijan's 𝐎𝐫𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐳𝐮𝐥𝐢 𝐇𝐚𝐣𝐢𝐲𝐞𝐯 (2x Age-group World 5th; 3x European age-group medalist/2x Runner-up)!

Factoring in his aforementioned appearance in 2023; an interesting tidbit is that the Curby Training Center protege's participation this week in Las Vegas makes it FOUR CONSECUTIVE YEARS that a Minisink Valley alumnus/alumnae have competed at the Under-23 Worlds!!

In 2024, it was 𝑺𝒐𝒇𝒊𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒐 finishing 5th at 57kg in the women's discipline....

And last year, 𝑷𝑱 𝑫𝒖𝒌𝒆, collected his second age-group medal of the year (previously a U20 World titlist) when he earned 70kg MFS bronze!!

Day #2 in Sin City will begin at 1:30pm ET with all action being streamed by FloWrestling!
