Please join us for the annual Rotary Club of Trinidad Dennis Scott Memorial Ride for Polio on Saturday, October 24th, 2026 from 10am to noon at the Central Park Rotary Pavilion and ride, sponsor a rider or just plain donate to the effort to finally eradicate Polio worldwide.
Dennis Scott was one lucky dude! Although he was stricken with Polio as a child, Dennis survived to attend the Air Force Academy, retire from the US Air Force, raise a family and live a long full life. Many others weren’t so lucky and if they survived Polio at all, lived with disabilities for the rest of their lives.
After receiving the sugar cube with the red drop of medicine as a child, most of us thought Polio was gone forever. Not so! Polio still exists to kill and cripple children every year in remote places like Afghanistan and Pakistan. Rotary International with the help of local Rotary clubs around the world have raised hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide to stamp out Polio. And the Bill Gates Foundation has matched much of the money raised 2 for 1.
You don’t need to ride to donate. For more information, please contact Patrick Walsh at [email protected]. Donations may also be mailed to Trinidad Rotary Club, PO Box 547, Trinidad, CO 81082. Checks may be made out to Trinidad Rotary for polio plus.
