Oakleaf Cottage Weddings with distinction and style, surrounded by nature. Both the Cottage and Barn have been completely remodeled since June of 2016.

Oakleaf Cottage and Barn rest on 28 old growth acres on the side of Lookout Mountain, bordering Cloudland Canyon State Park. The Cottage is professionally decorated and sleeps 9. The Barn offers 1750 square feet of indoor event space, with a 900sqft deck on the sunset side. Three event lawn areas and numerous trails wind through the property. Contact us for more information! For 12 years, Dave and Cris have worked toward their dream of providing a special place for people to unwind, to reconnect with nature, to learn new skills. They found an unexpected, 27 acre setting in the late spring of 2016, and set to work. At present the Cottage sleeps 9. Future plans include remodeling the barn for learning seminars, musical meets (Celidh, pron. "Kay-lee") and events, and a small herd of special goats.

We absolutely loved all of the stunning visual focus and intentional details L & D added to their wedding on Saturday! From florals to planned pauses in the day so they could share quiet moments, to ensuring their guests had a wonderful experience throughout the evening, this wedding was one we will all remember!

What we’ve been up to lately👀

We were all set up, the day was sunny and warm, and guests were starting to trickle in.

And then the mountain across from us disappeared.

There was no rain in the forecast. In fact, our apps still called for a sunny day. But the radar showed a blip forming near us.

We knew what to do, and we had five minutes to get it done. We covered the ceremony site, one of the lounges, and the reception dinner area. We alerted the caterer and took apart the buffet and drink station. We brought a lounge, the welcome table and cocktail tables indoors so guests had a place to mingle with a glass of ch*****ne while we waited it out.

And then when it was over, we reset. Ceremony was only 30 minutes delayed, and the rest of the day went on as planned.

That’s the power of an experienced, on site venue team. Some of our staff has been with us only a few seasons, while others have been here for 7 years.

A small bonus, the rain cooled the weather a bit!

It’s September! While it’s still unseasonably warm for some El Niño reason, the mornings and evenings are finally tolerable. We are so looking forward to cooler temps, lovely colors, and wanting warm beverages in the evening again.

One of our favorite ways to enjoy the Miuntainside ceremony site — dancing in the forest!

We have our own dance floor you can add to your package. Then add a great DJ with a fantastic light package like Your OC DJ Manđź“€ here and have a blast!
