It's the day after Hanacon! I must take a moment to give Theresa her 💐 flowers, which is fitting because 'hana' means flower in Japanese.
Theresa is a founder and the Con Chair of HanaCon. Before that, she has been a major part of the T-MODE Team for 15 years. She first joined us in 2010 and has been significant in helping us grow to what we are today. She has always said that her dream was to start her own convention one day. I cannot begin to express how special it is to see that dream come to life.
HanaCon was very well organized. The staff and volunteers were all friendly, professional, and committed to putting on a fantastic show. The panels were both entertaining and informative. (I can personally attest to this because I was a panel room volunteer and got to see most of the panels. Shout out to the programming department, panelists, and my fellow panel volunteers!) You could just tell that the attendees and guests were having fun and enjoying themselves— I saw nothing but smiles and happy faces everywhere I went.
On a side note, this also turned into a mini T-MODE reunion for me. I kept running into T-MODE friends, former team members, guests, and attendees. I love how we all showed up to support Theresa and her dream!
Theresa, I wish you and the HanaCon Team the biggest and most heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS on a successful 1st year, and many more years to come! 🎊💖👏
