Touhy Nationals Touhy Nationals is a car show, presented by The Touhy Torquers Car Club in the town of Touhy, NEB. The 14th Annual Touhy Nationals is August 23, 2025.

Touhy Nationals Auto Show first came to life August of 2012, thanks to Darrin Pecka, with the idea to bring life to the small town of Touhy. Touhy Nationals started as the 'Touhy Car & Bike Show' and was held on the last Sunday of August. Darrin as the fearless leader and a group of friends that helped to put this show together. Vehicles of sorts were welcome. Anything from Model T to a Case H, ca

rs, trucks, bikes, tractors it didn't matter what you had... we wanted you to show it off! Since it's start the show has been peer judging by everyone whom enters a vehicle. This has always been the idea for everyone to be involved, see other vehicles, and just to have some fun! With that fun came wet t-shirts and burning some rubber. A wet t-shirt contest was held for about 6 years of the show in support breast cancer awareness. That contest soon came to an end after a decrease in volunteers. The burnout competition has always followed the awards to end the show with a bang and continues every year! After a few years of the show, it was that 'The Touhy Torquers Car Club' would be brought to life and established back to the original show year of creation. A group deemed 'The Misfits of the Midwest' would continue to put this show on for future years to come, with all proceeds going to future shows making them better and continuing this day of fun in the town of Touhy! As the peers of the entries judged the Classes, it has been up to the Car Club to judge the Best Ford, Best GM, Best Mopar, Best Paint, Best Engine, Best Truck, and The Best of Show. Dash plaques are created every year for the show and given away if the gift bag from registering a vehicle... along with some other goods! The cars on the plaque is The Best of Show from the previous year. On the 4th Annual (2015) of the show it was renamed to 'Touhy Nationals Auto Show', as we began to get people from further out of the state. In this year our page 'Touhy Nationals Auto Show' was also created. As the show grew, we began to reach an amazing turn out of about 140-160 cars a year, and still continue to have amazing turnouts! The show is always planned to be a-go. Though all the years we have been very grateful to have beautiful sunny weather. After 7 annual shows we decided to toy with the idea of moving the show to a Saturday. On the 8th annual Touhy Nationals Show, the Touhy Torquers decided LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE! and we did. On the bottom of the judging sheet we added a voting for the move to a Saturday show. Everyone that entered a vehicle voted and the results came in. For the first time The 9th Annual Touhy Nationals would be held on the last Saturday of August! Moving the show opened us to the idea of making this much more than just your average auto show. Having an extra day to recover meant, why not do more? Keeping all the original ideas that made the show what it is since 2012... being that all vehicles are welcome, per judging, door prizes, wall hanging raffle, and burnout contest... we added a concert for an after party! Live band, music, drinks what more could you ask for in a show! So be sure to stop by and check out The Touhy Nationals Auto Show! Held in Touhy, Nebraska only 30 mins north of Lincoln on HWY 79 on the last weekend of August! All proceeds go towards next year's show. This year Lorin our wild DJ is wanting to have a pop up competition for the car show. The Dirty Soccer Mom Vehicle. What he is wanting is to have the competitors submit photos of your child chariots inside and out. But he doesn’t want it to be altered for the day of the show. Dirtier the better. Every great car show needs people who go the extra mile, and Alex is one of those people. Known for his dedication and hardworking spirit, Alex puts in countless hours making sure the town looks its best and that the show runs smoothly from start to finish.
When he’s not busy volunteering, Alex has a passion for vintage tractors and combines, as well as classic rides like Apache pickups and Firebirds. His love of machinery and old iron shines through in everything he does.
Alex is also the kind of guy you can always count on—whether it’s lending a hand to a neighbor, helping fellow volunteers, or pitching in wherever something needs done. He and his wife, Katelyn, share that same tireless work ethic. Living on their farm, you’ll often find the two of them working late into the night, side by side.
We’re lucky to have Alex as part of our team, and we’re grateful for all the time, effort, and heart he pours into making the show a success.

You may not spot Doug Bohaty at the car show this year, but make no mistake—he’s still putting in the work.
Whether he’s out in the fields spraying or hanging out with friends and family, this dedicated car club member is the definition of reliable. A proud tractor lover and true family man, he brings that same work ethic and heart to everything he does—including our show.
While many see the shine and polish of the main event, few know the behind-the-scenes effort it takes to pull it off. From coordinating with sponsors to making sure the port-a-pots are on site and ready, this guy handles the unglamorous jobs with zero complaints—because he knows how important they are to making it all happen.
We’re lucky to have someone who brings the same commitment to our car club as he does to his fields. Even if you don’t see him in person this year, know that his hard work helped pave the way for another great show.

A man whose hands have built more than machines—they’ve built a life of relentless hard work, unstoppable passion, and legendary roadside fixes. A lifelong farmer, he knows the value of determination and dependability—qualities that extend from his fields straight into his garage. His first love? International trucks.
