As we wrap up the 51st edition of the Huff 'n Puff Hot Air Balloon Rally we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the Mount Hope Balloon Field this weekend!

Thank you to all of our incredible pilots and balloon teams who traveled from near and far to join us and to give their best with their balloons. Your passion and drive, energy and kindness to this long-standing Topeka Tradition means the world to our event and community. Thank you to our amazing sponsors, our on-field announcer and videographer, and all of those who are part of the Great Plains Balloon Club that help make this all happen.

As every aeronaut knows, Mother Nature is always in the pilot's seat. While the weather only allowed for us to have a beautiful flight and glow on Friday and a small window for our Balloon Discovery Workshop, that unpredictability is just part of the magic of the lighter-than-air flight. Flights and glows are never guaranteed, but the camaraderie, shared stories, and spirit of our ballooning community always are.

Although Friday was our only night we were able to get the balloons out, we had an absolute blast sharing our sport with our balloon families, our landowners, and all of YOU that joined us! Thank you for your patience, support, kind words and encouragement through it all!!

The 52nd edition of the Huff 'n Puff Hot Air Balloon Rally will be held September 10-12th, 2027 in the same spot....so we do hope you will join us! Until next year.....🎈

Good Morning. Not the way we wanted to end the 51st edition of the Huff ‘n Puff… but Mother Nature has the final call. Due to rain an other precipitation in the area as well as the current field conditions ALL activities for this morning (Sunday) have been CANCELLED.

We want to thank all of our balloon teams, sponsors, vendors, and all of YOU that came out to attend our event this weekend. We will see you all September 10-12th, 2027 for the 52nd edition of the Huff ‘n Puff Hot Air Balloon Rally! 💜

Thank you all for exiting the field quickly tonight. Everyone’s safety was our top priority. The damaging winds and now rain have hit the balloon field. We will make a decision on tomorrow morning tomorrow …. Please stay safe everyone. For those that missed the memo… all activities for tonight have been cancelled and the field is now closed. Thank you.

Following our conversation with the National Weather Service…

There are severe storms headed towards Topeka . Hail and damaging winds. For the safety of our spectators.. our balloon teams and our vendors and volunteers….. and YOU all…ALL ACTIVITIES ARE CANCELED FOR TONIGHT.

We do apologize for any inconvenience however for everyone’s safety we asking that you exit the field at this time. We will be closing the gates to the field here shortly so no one will be able to enter the field.
