All About the Blintze Brunch
A Brief History
The Topeka Blintze Brunch began in 1966 as a simple occasion for the Temple Sisterhood to serve blintzes. Over the years, many things have changed. Now, the majority of the Temple Beth Sholom community is involved in the preparation and performance of the Blintze Brunch in some way. Although it began with just blintzes, other food items have been featured such as stuffed cabbage, knishes, kugel, kosher hot dogs, bagels, and much more. A bake sale and silent auction were also added to the Blintze Brunch festivities along the way and we proudly continue to host them as part of our event. We are also so fortunate to have the Temple Beth Sholom choir and Israeli folk dancers take part in our Blintze Brunch by providing entertainment. Best of Topeka: Best Ethnic Event in Northeast Kansas, 2016
We are very proud that in 2016, our Blintze Brunch was awarded the editorβs choice for Best Ethnic Event in Northeast Kansas by the Topeka Capital-Journal. Approximately 1200 people attended in 2016 and among our guests, 85% to 90% visited us from outside the Jewish community. Our event started in 1966 as a small gathering for just Temple members and has evolved into a major community event! The Topeka Blintze Brunch is incredibly grateful for the support of the Topeka community and those who drive in to see us from surrounding areas such as Lawrence, Manhattan, Wichita, and Kansas City. Other Blintze Brunch Features:
