Talking up the Toms River Book Show and Toms River Horror Show at Scary Story Fest at Birdsmouth Brewery in Oceanport with a dozen other horror authors!

The fourth annual Toms River Book Show will be held on Friday, June 4 from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Toms River.

The show takes place during one of the very well attended Downtown Night Out events. A section of Washington Street from Main Street to Hooper Avenue is closed to vehicles. People eat outside, enjoying live music and ambiance. People come from miles around.

The event is a fundraiser for the Toms River Education Foundation which helps provide extracurricular activities to enrich local children.

Two big changes are coming to this year.

1. The show will be entirely outside between the outside dining and the library.

2. There will be bookish vendors in addition to 25+ self-published authors.

Welcome to the Toms River Book Show, Chris Lundy!

The Book That Haunts Me”
After finding a blank journal in a funeral home, Jeff’s daydreams take a dark turn.
When he’s home or at school, he thinks about what creatures live in the woods outside his windows. When he’s with his little half-brother, he imagines a baby that growls like a monster.
He blacks out, and when he wakes, he realizes that he wrote a horror story in the journal. As more stories fill the pages, Jeff becomes scared of the tales he’s spinning, and he’s also frightened of this own imagination. How could he come up with such disturbing ideas?
As he learns what the journal is doing to him, he comes to understand the true power of horror.
