Maryland Horse Industry partners brings Horseland to the Maryland State Fair!

Maryland Horse Industry partners will once again host 11 days of free equine educational and entertainment events during the Maryland State Fair near the Grandstand. The festival is in addition to the seven days of Thoroughbred racing, daily horse and breed shows, the bull riding and barrel racing show, horse pulling contests, and the pony and mule races already featured at the fair in Timonium, M

D. During the 11-days of the fair, the tented Horseland, located between the Carnival Kiddie Land and the Grandstand, will feature a variety of equine demonstrations, children’s activities, and a pony and donkeys. Horse Discovery Center's will be there and you can find out how YOU can have horses in your life. Youth visitors can make stick horses and be able to race them on a kiddie-size racetrack as well as jump over a small obstacle course. In addition, an Equicizer will be available for folks to get the feel of riding a horse. Daily demonstrations in the Horse Land will include: horseshoeing, horse braiding, grooming and tacking and more. Maryland’s top horse associations will feature interactive booths featuring topics such as therapeutic riding activities, racing, breeding and raising horses, horse rescues, military riding, equine studies, search and rescue, rodeo and more. Visitors to Horseland can also join tours of the racetrack given by horse industry leaders and jockeys during live race days, to explore the colorful activities taking place and to join handicapping sessions on how to pick a winner.

Holiday Horseland is well underway!! We will be back tomorrow 12/11- Sunday 12/14 starting at 5:30! Please visit us at the Holiday Lights Spectacular at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. We are here Thursday-Sunday all of December. We hope to see you!

🐴Yesterday, Governor Wes Moore signed an Executive Order officially launching the Maryland Horse Industry Strategic Plan. This plan aims to guide the future of Maryland's $2.9 billion equine industry. This historic initiative seeks to unite the state's varied horse community under a singular, coordinated vision for growth, sustainability, and collaboration.

“Maryland’s horse industry is a powerful symbol of the state’s heritage, agriculture, and economic vitality,” said Gov. Moore. “This strategic plan will bring together all facets of the equine community to ensure the industry continues to thrive for generations to come.”

Hello from Horseland!! Today we have Capone and Gotti, twin Haflingers and their mini Bubbles. The wonderful horses from City Ranch and Maryland Miniatures. We also have stick ponies and our own Secretariat equicizer. We will be here today til 6pm then tomorrow and Monday 10-6!
