We are SO excited to announce "The Astral Library" by Kate Quinn as the 2026 Christopher D. English Community Read title!

Each year the Community Read encourages people in Seneca County to read the selected title and come together for special events and discussions.

As the featured event in the Community Read, Kate Quinn, a New York Times best-selling author, will speak to the community on Tuesday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. at The Chandelier Community Event Center. The author event is completely free and open to the community and will be followed by a book signing. Copies of "The Astral Library" will be available for purchase thanks to the Pan Yan Bookstore both at the author event and at the Bookstore leading up to it.

Just released in February, "The Astral Library" became an instant bestseller by reaching #2 in the New York Times Bestsellers list and #1 on the Globe & Mail bestsellers list in its first week of publication. Copies of the book will be available soon to be checked out from the Library, and the eBook and audiobook can be found on the Ohio Digital Library and Libby app.

Additional events accompanying the author visit, including an adult craft night, book discussion, and more will be released in greater detail at a later date.
