Time to get ready for the fair!

Parking Passes will work the same as last year.... Miranda Carlson or ADawn Nelson will take your bought pass and return a livestock pass to you. 2 passes per family please.
Please Park in front of YOUR own trailer....
There are added stalls, where the old bleacher was.... These will be kept for goats/sheep.
Main LIVESTOCK Rules.... PLEASE see READ Carefully.
1. Entries in the livestock and poultry department shall be sent in by email/mail prior to July 3. (email: [email protected] or call/text 2186841047) This is necessary in order that stalls may be assigned according to the number of entries and that the fair management may know how much barn space is available. The animals must be in place on the first day of
the fair.
2. Livestock are not permitted on the fairgrounds BEFORE 1 pm on Wednesday. Setup can begin the Sunday before the fair.
3. Livestock entries will take place at the Huck on Thursday from 10 am - 6 pm.
4. There will be NO PARKING of cars, trucks, campers between the poultry barn and the livestock barn.
5. Cattle will be shown by breeds, registered and grade will be shown together. Papers are required at entry time. No papers required for grade cattle.
6. Exhibitors must keep their barn and stalls open and stock uncovered between the hours of 10 A.M. and 5 P.M. during each day of the show. Exhibitors of livestock must keep their stock, stalls, and pens in
good, neat condition and open for inspection from 10 A.M. to 10 P.M.
7. Each exhibitor of livestock must pay an entry fee of $1.00 for each entry of cattle, sheep and hogs. No entry in the livestock department will be less than $2.00.
8. When entering female livestock, they must go into EITHER a MARKET or BREEDING category, not both.
9. All exhibitors who have an animal in the sheep/goat/swine area must work (or have a family member work) one time slot as a barn attendant. Details and signup will be at the barn office table or forfeit premium money.
10. Bring all of your own bedding, feed and equipment.
11. Livestock must be bona fide property of the exhibitor at least sixty days before exhibition.
12. In championships, "Senior" designates cattle two years old or over; "Junior" under two years. Only first prize winners in single lots in open competition may compete for championships. Champion winners only may compete for grand championships.
13. 4-H club boys and girls who enter livestock in the open class will be required to pay entry fee, as herein specified. 14. All livestock including horses, cattle, sheep and goats will be examined by the official show veterinarian each day (RLF Vet Clinic for 2019) of the fair. Certificates for all livestock consigned from other states shall comply with the
rules and regulations of the Livestock Sanitary Board for the importation of livestock into Minnesota.
All animals must be free of warts, ringworm or other contagious disease. If they arrive at the show
with these diseases, they will be sent home. All animals must be officially identified.
15. All poultry, except waterfowl and pigeons, besides being apparently healthy, must meet one of the fol- lowing conditions in order to qualify for exhibition:
1. Officially tested for pullorum and typhoid diseases and found negative within 90 days prior to opening or exhibition, or
2. Originate directly from parent stock classified within 12 months of opening date of exhibition as U.A. Pullorum-Typhoid Clean or a comparable classification. The exhibition must show compliance with one of the above by means of an official form issued by an authorized agent of which is recorded the result of this test, or an appropriate statement certifying to
origin, together with identification of each bird by band number. All poultry must be identified by leg
or wing band.
16. Any livestock removed from the fairgrounds before 5:00 P.M. the last fair day, without notification of the superintendent, are subject to withholding of premium of animal taken home. 17. All Pig, Sheep and Goat Stalls must be completely cleaned, swept and checked by barn manager before receiving premium check.
18. All bulls must have an extra neck tie in addition to any halter tie. No cattle are to be tied by leather show halters in stalls.
19. Anyone may exhibit livestock in Pennington County whose home county allows Pennington County residents to exhibit there.
20. Additional classes may be added at the discretion of the Superintendent.
21. All animals at the fairgrounds, must be shown in at least one class during the fair.
22. Livestock Superintendents have final decisions
