Ben Meyer Foundation and Acadia Music Fest Present 2025 Festival Donation to Camille A. Morvant Childrenās Advocacy Center
The Ben Meyer Foundation, alongside Acadia Music Fest, proudly presented a donation on January 5, 2026 to the Camille A. Morvant Childrenās Advocacy Center, made possible through the success of the 2025 Acadia Music Fest.
The 2025 Acadia Music Fest proved to be one of the most impactful and successful years to date, bringing thousands together for a day of live music, community, and purpose. Through generous sponsorships, strong attendance, and unwavering community support, the festival once again fulfilled its mission of giving backāthis year in support of an organization that serves some of the most vulnerable children in Lafourche Parish.
āWe are honored and incredibly grateful to be able to support the Camille A. Morvant Childrenās Advocacy Center,ā said Tommy Meyer, Founder of the Ben Meyer Foundation. āBeing able to present this donation is a reminder of why Acadia Music Fest existsāto bring people together and reinvest that support directly into our community.ā
The Camille A. Morvant Childrenās Advocacy Center plays a critical role in Lafourche Parish by providing a safe, child-friendly environment for children who are victims of abuse or severe neglect. The Center coordinates a multidisciplinary response involving law enforcement, child protection agencies, medical professionals, and counselors to reduce trauma and ensure each child receives compassionate care, advocacy, and access to essential services. In addition to forensic interviews, the Center offers family advocacy, referrals, and ongoing support to help children and families begin the healing process.
āWe are deeply grateful to Tommy Meyer, the Ben Meyer Foundation, and the entire Acadia Music Fest team for their incredible generosity,ā Kristine Russell, Lafourche Parish District Attorney, shared. āThis $25,000 gift isnāt just a donation ā it's an investment in the children and families we serve. Since 2005, the Camille A. Morvant Childrenās Advocacy Center has conducted 3,834 forensic interviews with children and expanded services to include counseling through a Licensed Professional Counselor, with 521 counseling sessions offered to date. Support like this allows us to be there for children in the moments that matter mostā.
By partnering with the Center, the Ben Meyer Foundation and Acadia Music Fest aim not only to provide financial support, but also to raise awareness about the vital work being done every day to protect and advocate for children in the community.
Founded in memory of Ben Meyer, the Ben Meyer Foundation is dedicated to supporting youth, the arts, and community-based initiatives throughout South Louisiana. Its signature fundraising event, Acadia Music Fest, has grown into a cornerstone community festivalācombining high-quality entertainment with meaningful philanthropic impact. Each year, proceeds from the festival are reinvested locally, helping strengthen organizations that make a tangible difference in the lives of families and children.
āThe success of the 2025 festival allowed us to give back in a meaningful way,ā Meyer added. āIt was truly a great yearāone defined by generosity, community spirit, and the ability to support causes that matter deeply to us.ā
As planning begins for future events, the Ben Meyer Foundation remains committed to continuing its mission of honoring Ben Meyerās legacy by supporting organizations that uplift, protect, and serve the community.
Weāre incredibly grateful to share this exciting news!
The CAC has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 Acadia Music Fest proceeds. Tommy Meyer with the Ben Meyer Foundation presented the $25,000 donation on Monday, January 5th, 2026, to co-founder and President Camille A. āCam Morvant II, Director Kristine Russell, Forensic Interviewer Shannan Gros and Finance Director Elizabeth Breaux.
āWe are incredibly thankful to Tommy Meyer, the Ben Meyer Foundation, and the entire Acadia Music Fest team for their extraordinary generosity,ā said Kristine Russell. āThis donation and belief in our mission allows us to continue providing critical services in moments when they are needed most.ā
Tommy Meyer said the decision to support the CAC aligned with the heart behind the Acadia Music Fest.
āThe Childrenās Advocacy Center of Lafourche does incredibly important work for some of the most vulnerable children and families in our community,ā said Meyer. āTheir mission aligns closely with what Acadia Music Fest is about ā bringing people together to make a real, local impact. After visiting with Cam, Kristine and Shannon and seeing the work they do, we knew we had made a great decision.ā
The Childrenās Advocacy Center of Lafourche provides a child-friendly setting where children can share their experiences in a safe and supportive environment while being interviewed by a trained Forensic Interviewer. The CAC coordinates closely with law enforcement, child protection agencies, medical professionals, and the District Attorneyās Office to minimize trauma, promote healing, and support the pursuit of justice.
Meyer continued, āMy hope is that these funds help the CAC continue providing critical services, resources, and support to children and families when they need it most. If this contribution helps them reach even one more child or family, then itās well worth it. Ultimately, we want Acadia Music Fest to be a force for good beyond the music.ā
Since its founding in 2005, the CAC has conducted 3,834 forensic interviews with children. In addition to these interviews, the center expanded its services several years ago by hiring a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to provide counseling to children and their families. To date, 521 counseling sessions have been provided - 184 of those in 2025 alone.
The CAC also engages in prevention and education efforts by visiting schools to present on cyber safety to students, teachers, and parents, delivering 10 presentations in 2025.
