We’re excited to share that the IRS has officially recognized Terre Hill Park Association as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization!
THPA is now an independent, IRS-recognized nonprofit with one purpose: “Promoting community through events in support of Terre Hill Community Memorial Park.”
While the park is owned and operated by Terre Hill Borough, THPA helps bring private donations, grants, volunteers, activities and fundraising into the park for the benefit of our entire community.
What does 501(c)(3) status mean, and why does it matter?
More opportunities to improve the park:
Funds raised by THPA can support park improvements, programs, facilities, events and special projects, supplementing Borough resources and helping reduce reliance on tax dollars.
Access to additional grants and funding:
As a 501(c)(3), THPA can pursue charitable grants and other funding opportunities that may not be available to municipalities or organizations without tax-exempt status.
Tax-deductible charitable giving:
Donations to THPA are generally tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, giving individuals and businesses another reason to invest in projects that benefit our community.
An organized way to support the park:
THPA provides a structure for businesses, organizations, donors and volunteers to work together to preserve, improve and enhance Terre Hill Community Memorial Park.
Long-term planning and continuity:
The Park Association can help provide continuity for long-term projects and planning while also responding to opportunities and needs as they arise.
More opportunities to get involved:
Whether it’s helping with an event, assisting with planning or contributing skills or services, THPA provides an opportunity to participate directly in making our park and community better.
We’re excited about what the future holds for THPA!
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attends our events, volunteers, donates, and our amazing business sponsors that support the Park Association. Your support is what allows us to continue investing in Terre Hill Community Memorial Park and bringing our community together.
We’re looking forward to what comes next!
