💥 PARKING UPDATE 💥

We’re officially SOLD OUT of parking passes for this weekend’s SC Pawpaw Festival!

But you can still come celebrate with us:

🚗 A limited number of parking spaces will become available day-of as cars head out, typically after the first hour.

🚙 Skip the parking and take an Uber or Lyft for easy drop-off right at the gate!

🎟️ Free tasting tickets are still available to everyone upon entry.

We’ll see you on Saturday, August 29th at Blue Oak Horticulture for a day full of pawpaw fun, live music, delicious food & community! 🌱

Taking the stage at the 2026 SC Pawpaw Festival… The Foreign Landers! From Northern Ireland to South Carolina, their music weaves together bluegrass roots and Celtic tradition into something truly special. The moment we heard them, we knew they’d bring a unique and unforgettable sound to the Pawpaw stage—and we can’t wait to share it with you!

Rooted in bluegrass and Celtic tradition, the The Foreign Landers create their own sound with reflective songwriting and enchanting singing shaped by lives lived across borders. Led by vocalist and banjoist Tabitha Agnew Benedict of Northern Ireland and mandolinist David Benedict of South Carolina, The Foreign Landers have built a reputation for music that feels deeply personal. Their work grows out of shared experience, shaped by distance, home, and the steady work of learning how to live faithfully in changing seasons.

Taking the stage at the 2026 SC Pawpaw Festival… The Wilder Flower! 🌸🎶 We’ve been hearing about this incredible group for years—and the moment we heard them ourselves, we knew they were a perfect fit for the Pawpaw stage. We’re beyond excited (and honored!) to welcome The Wilder Flower!

Madeline Dierauf and Molly Johnson have been building a sound together since meeting in 2021 at the Hagood Mill Fiddlers Convention, where they have each taken home multiple blue ribbons. Joined in 2025 by guitarist Audrey Neel, their musical chemistry was immediate and they've been refining their sound and show ever since.

The Wilder Flower blends Folk, Americana, Bluegrass, and Old-time influence into something new and fluid. They thrive vocally on three-part harmonies, whether a two-chord old-time ballad, or a modern, minor-filled melody, and instrumentally feature bluegrass banjo tunes, fiddle and clawhammer string-band songs, and everything in between. Their unique sound is centered around original songs and tunes that are thoughtfully arranged and adapted to showcase their tasteful instrumental sensibilities. They flex between genres and writers in each song, but there is something to their collective taste that speaks the same language, though switching dialects.

The Wilder Flower has opened for bands such as the SteelDrivers, Steep Canyon Rangers, and MIPSO. They play festivals such as Merlefest, The Earl Scruggs Music Festival, GreyFox Bluegrass Festival, Big Ponderoo Music and Art Festival, FreshGrass Festival, High Mountain Hay Fever, and Albino Skunk Music Festival. The Wilder Flower also teaches / does educational outreach, working with organizations like Junior Appalachian Musicians, Merlefest, Mountain School of Strings, Outlaw Strings Oregon, Red Wing Academy, and in one off workshops for festivals.

Get ready for a prehistoric twist! Adam Bigelow will guide us on a paw-sitively prehistoric adventure with his talk “Animals that Love Pawpaws: From the Pleistocene through Today”. Join Adam at 4:15 PM on the main stage as he guides us on a journey through the pawpaws relationship with ancient megafauna of the Pleistocene and the modern creatures of the Cenozoic era that adorn this years festival artwork!

Adam is a horticulturist and botanist who lives in Cullowhee, NC, and has been studying the plants and wildflowers of Southern Appalachia for over 20 years. Adam operates Bigelow’s Botanical Excursions, an eco-tour business leading guided plant walks and offering classes and workshops in WNC and beyond. He is the author of The Joyful Botanist column for the Smoky Mountain News. An avid organic gardener he is the founder of the Cullowhee Community Garden. Adam is a member of the planning committee for the Cullowhee Native Plant Conference, among the largest and oldest Native Plant conferences in the country and has attended the conference for many years. Adam lives in Cullowhee at 3,600 ft surrounded by Native Plants and Wildflowers with his cats Hazel Alder, Silky Willow, and Cat Briar. Ready to dig into pawpaw growing? We're so excited to welcome Cory Tanner from Clemson University Extension to the SC Pawpaw Festival! Catch him at 3:15 PM in the Garden Circle for his hands-on talk, “Growing Pawpaws in the Palmetto State: A Hands-On Discussion.” He'll cover everything you need to successfully grow this native fruit — from site assessment and soil prep to planting, pruning, fertilization, and season-round care. Perfect for beginners and experienced growers alike.

A life-long gardener, Cory earned a B.S. and an M.S. in horticulture from Clemson University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in entomology. Prior to employment with Clemson Extension, he worked in the nursery trade, producing quality landscape trees and shrubs. A prolific writer, Cory previously authored a monthly column for SC Living Magazine called SC Gardener, co-edited the most recent edition of the SC Master Gardener Training Manual, and frequently appears as an expert panelist on SCETV's award-winning gardening program, Making It Grow!

Get ready, pawpaw lovers! We’re thrilled to welcome Andra Nus to the SC Pawpaw Festival! She’ll kick off our educational series at 2:15 PM in the Garden circle with her can’t miss talk “From Wild Groves to Cultivars: The Evolving Art of Pawpaw Breeding.”

Andra is the owner of Sleepy Gap Pawpaws in Arden, North Carolina, a nursery specializing in grafted pawpaw trees and an orchard of mature, fruit-bearing pawpaws. A professional horticulturist with more than 30 years of experience, she has worked in public gardens across the United States and currently serves as a plant breeder with North Carolina State University. Her work with NCSU focuses on breeding pawpaws for ornamental qualities and improved fruit production. Andra serves on the boards of Bullington Gardens and the Magnolia Society International and is an enthusiastic home gardener.
Sleepy Gap Pawpaws is a small, family-owned nursery and orchard selling all things pawpaw, Asimina triloba. They specialize in growing grafted pawpaw trees, especially Peterson Pawpaws and Kentucky State University selections. Their small fruit-bearing orchard of 150 trees consists of 24 varieties of pawpaws. They sell pawpaw trees, fruit, scions, seed, and other fun pawpaw items.
