Taylor Rodeo Association 🗓️2027 77th Annual Taylor Rodeo

𐚁Taylor's Pro CPRA Rodeo
Since 1950
He brought beef to the north and tamed the west.

The Great American Cowboy built this country with strong hands and a lonely heart. He spent his nights under lonely stars by a camp fire and spent his days roping, riding and fighting the elements -- and some lived to tell about it. The history of the cowboy's life is written in books and songs. Roy Rogers, Gene Autry and John Wayne immortalized him in the movies. Since 1950 Taylor Rodeo Association has proudly brought to you the Taylor Annual Rodeo in the home town of Bill Picket. The crowds that come to this yearly event have grown because of the enthusiasm and the excitement, but most of all for the entertainment they receive. Over the years the Taylor Annual Rodeo has become the big fish in a small pond. It is one of the biggest and best small-town rodeos anywhere. Crowds at the event exceed expectations every year, and every year more and more people come out to Taylor to experience rodeo at it's finest. Taylor's rodeo is different because of the tremendous amount of crowd participation. The crowd can join in such events as the Calf Scramble and Steer Saddling. The rodeo cowboys who ride in the Taylor Annual Rodeo do not carry a membership card. This is an open rodeo; a place where you can watch local people rope and ride. Some of the cowboys you get to see are the future of the sport. PRCA riders are welcome, since this is an open event, but they may not come away with the check. The East Williamson County Events Center is home to the Taylor Annual Rodeo . The Taylor Rodeo Association is the caretaker for this 60,000 square foot covered facility -- the largest in Williamson County. Dig into our web page further for details and booking information. The Taylor Annual Rodeo is a Celebration of the Passion, Dignity, Honor and Integrity Surrounding the Legacy of "The Great American Cowboy". Don't miss your opportunity to be part of this year's celebration.

🤠 TAYLOR RODEO THROWBACK

Here’s a great piece of Taylor Rodeo history!

Back then, rodeo week meant a whole lot more than just the action in the arena. There was the Jaycee Trail Ride & Dance, Rodeo Parade, three nights of rodeo, dancing at Murphy Park, games, contests, food, b**r and plenty of fun.

Some things may have changed over the years, but bringing our community together for rodeo week is a Taylor tradition that has been going strong for generations. ❤️

Now for the big question…

Does anyone know what year this was? 👀

And take a close look at those old photos, do you recognize anyone? Were you there? We’d love to hear your stories and memories in the comments.

FUN FACT!

🎥🍿Thirty-four years ago today, Pure Country made its debut.

🤠A lot of country music comes and goes, but the songs, the grit, and the arena dirt in that film never go out of style. It’s the same tradition we’re proud to bring to the Williamson County Expo Center every year.

💧Drop your favorite scene or song from the movie below! 🎶🐎

It takes a lot of people to make a rodeo happen. 🤠

What happens in the arena is only part of the story.

Behind the scenes at the Taylor Rodeo, there are people giving their time, sharing their experience, and doing the work that most folks never see.

For more than 75 years, that willingness to step up and get the job done has been part of what keeps the Taylor Rodeo tradition going.

Here’s to the people behind the scenes who help make it all happen. ♥️🤍

The Taylor Rodeo Association is saddened to hear of the passing of Pete Fox.

Pete devoted his life to rodeo and livestock. He competed in the arena, supplied cattle for team ropings, hauled and flanked rodeo stock across the country, and served as a pickup man for Bad Company Rodeo for more than 25 years. He was part of the Diamond Cross Rodeo family and earned the respect of people throughout the rodeo world.

In 2025, Pete received the CPRA Lynn Bottoms Memorial Lifetime Personnel Award, a fitting honor for a life dedicated to rodeo.

Pete was a true cowboy, and his contributions to rodeo will not be forgotten. We extend our heartfelt condolences and prayers to his daughter, Mandi Jo Fox, his family, and his entire rodeo family.

Your time in the arena may be over, Pete, but the mark you left on rodeo, and on everyone who knew you, will ride on. You’ll be missed, Cowboy. ❤️🤍
