Today is the birthday of the legendary musician and songwriter John Hartford, who was born on December 30, 1937. On March 28, 1998, John entertained us on our Tawas City stage. John was accompanied by Mark Schatz on bass and Chris Sharp on guitar, both highly regarded musicians individually. It was an amazing evening that we'll never forget!

We really enjoyed Saturday's amazing performance by the multi-talented Claire Lynch Band. What a great way to end the 23rd Corsair Concert season and say hello to spring. We're looking forward to seeing y'all next winter for our 24th concert season. Thanks for supporting LIVE music!

The Claire Lynch Band brings one of the most creative sounds in acoustic music to our stage this Saturday evening, May 2nd. Claire's unique style encompasses adventuresome bluegrass that is thoughtfully infused with contemporary country, folk, blues and jazz. She’s also a songwriter of extraordinary ability. Her accolades include three International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Female Vocalist of the Year awards, two GRAMMY nominations and a recent win for IBMA Song of the Year for the title track from her latest release, Dear Sister. In 2014, Digital Journal.com listed Claire as “One of the 10 Best Angelic Voices of Our Time”. She shared that honor with such luminaries as Judy Collins, Alison Krauss, Sarah McLachlan, Martina McBride, Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris. A happy crowd of bluegrass fans enjoyed a memorable Saturday evening with Michael Cleveland sawing on the strings. Special thanks to the red-hot Flamekeeper band and everyone who attended the Corsair Concert Series event to support skiing and hiking trails in our community. The second set was scorching hot with special guest Lloyd Douglas (Detour Bluegrass) taking the stage with his banjo and Gaven Largent rolling some thunder on his dobro. Tyler Griffith kept 'em in time with his bass, Josh Richards drove the vocals and guitar, while Nathan Livers dazzled on the mandolin. Lots of exciting fun!

Nine-time winner of the International Bluegrass Music Association's Fiddle Player of the Year award, Michael Cleveland brings some real exciting bluegrass to our stage this Saturday night with his sizzling band, Flamekeeper, (four-time IBMA Instrumental Group of the Year award winners). Looking forward to this Saturday night's Corsair Concert event featuring DETOUR. They play no-nonsense contemporary original bluegrass, with gusto, elegance, great harmonies, and the sweet singing of Missy Armstrong. Their latest album, "Going Nowhere Fast", made the Roots Music Reports Top Albums of 2014, coming in at #6. Their hot single, "Too Blue To Have The Blues", spent weeks at the top of the charts and was the #1 most played song on the Bluegrass Today Airplay Chart in 2014. Highly admired amongst their peers, Detour received an International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) Award Nomination as 2014 Emerging Artist of the Year. From MerleFest to Tawas City... can't wait for Saturday night's Corsair Concert event featuring VOLUME FIVE. They just spent the past weekend in North Carolina performing at MerleFest. Yesterday they were featured in a fine article on Bluegrass Today. Volume Five plays quality music and they will be on our stage, in Tawas City, Saturday evening at 7:30 PM.

He has amassed a remarkable list of career accomplishments including; multiple number one singles, top selling albums, CMA, ACM, IBMA, and Grammy Awards, along with scores of other accolades.
