Help us to cheer on our Mighty Vikings tomorrow as they take on Charlotte's Corvian Community High School for the 1A Division NCHSAA Championship. We wish the team, their opponent, and their coaches safe travels and safety on the field.

The game is being played at Carter Finley Stadium and will begin at 3pm. This is an updated schedule for this weekend’s Hometown HomecomIng event. A few things have changed since our original plans however, we are still looking forward to a great time! Please note that the Tarboro Vikings will be playing out of town at Gates County and unfortunately due to the lack of interest we will not be hosting a parade this year. Come out to join us for a lot of free family fun with great people!

We have made the very difficult decision to cancel this year's Homecoming event. Although as of this morning, the storm projection shows that we may have good weather on Saturday and Sunday we have experienced enough storms to know that there is still a high level of uncertainty and still many risks.

The Friday night football game against Gates County has been moved to tonight at Tarboro High at 7PM. Help to support our Vikings! The Homes & Gardens Tour organized by the Blount-Bridgers Arboretum is still planned for Saturday. OkTarboroFest planned by Tarboro Brewing Company is also still on go for this Sunday.

A lot of work goes into an outdoor event prior to the event. With the projection of heavy rainfall tomorrow and winds this hinders the ability to safely get equipment in place. We have a due diligence to keep our staff and community as safe as possible. We hope that our community is understanding and supportive of this decision.

As with any storm our staff are ready and prepared to handle any impacts of the storm and wish the best for our community while keeping those who have been in the path of the storm in our thoughts. Stay tuned to our local weather stations and prepare what is needed accordingly.

A Message From The Hometown Homecoming Event Organizer

The Town of Tarboro is excited about Homecoming this weekend. We will be monitoring the weather forecast throughout the week to see what the predicted impacts from Hurricane Ian will be on Saturday and Sunday. We will notify the community and our vendors on Thursday if there will be a need to cancel the event. Stay tuned to our social media for updates!
