Congratulations to our 2026 Ridge-A-Thon participants, donors, volunteers, and staff members! We are thankful to everyone who makes this event possible, as we honor the life and memory of Ben Myers while raising donations for the Emergency Medicine Fund at Taos Community Foundation.

As of February 26th, Ridge-A-Thon had raised a grand total of $60,938 to support emergency healthcare services in Taos.

Through this fund, we are able to make grants to organizations like Taos Cancer Support Services, Rio Grande ATP, and Taos Elders and Neighbors Together (TENT) through our annual Impact Grants Cycle.

This weekend, join Taos Community Foundation at Taos Ski Valley to celebrate the 30th anniversary Ben Meyers Ridge-A-Thon!

Participants will ski the Ridge and raise money for the Emergency Medicine Fund at TCF, which awards annual grants to nonprofit organizations providing care for the unmet healthcare and medical needs of local residents.

Join us the day before Ridge-A-Thon kicks off to hear a talk from renowned mountaineer Dave Hahn!

Dave is a longtime Taos Ski Valley Ski Patrol member and one of the most accomplished high-altitude mountaineers in the world. Dave has summited Mount Everest multiple times, earning international recognition. Drawing from decades spent both on the world's highest peaks and at Taos Ski Valley , Dave will share powerful stories about perseverance, teamwork, and decision-making in extreme environments.

This event is free to attend, however; donations to support Ridge-A-Thon will be collected at the door.

This year, we are celebrating 30 years of Ridge-A-Thon! Over the past 3 decades, we've raised over $1,000,000+ in charitable donations that have been granted out by Taos Community Foundation to support equitable healthcare nonprofits in our community.

Registration for the 30th Anniversary Ben Myers Ridge-A-Thon is OPEN! The team at Taos Community Foundation is hosting this event on Feb. 20-21st, 2026 at Taos Ski Valley.

This tradition began as a way to honor the life and legacy of Ben Meyers, a local Taos skier who tragically lost his life to cancer. In his memory, some of his close friends began skiing to raise money for those facing insurmountable medical costs, establishing the first Ridge-A-Thon in 1996. For 30 years now, Ridge-A-Thon participants and donors have raised donations to support the Emergency Medicine Funds at Taos Community Foundation.

The Emergency Medicine Funds award annual grants to nonprofit organizations that provide equitable access to healthcare and medicine for residents of Taos and western Colfax counties.

Previous grant recipients from these funds include Holy Cross Cancer Support Services, Rio Grande Alcoholism Treatment Program, Inc. (Rio Grande ATP), Taos Elders and Neighbors Together (TENT), Taos Whole Community Health, Taos Behavioral Health/Nonviolence Works, and Ensueños y Los Angelitos Development Center, among dozens of other organizations.
